Yes, the first attempts at the Leaf Tower are always a bit disappointing. The Leaf Tower is a massive shake up in regards to how you need to play the game. Everything prior to this point has been about blowing leaves off the screen (and upgrading your ALBs).
The Leaf Tower is ENTIRELY about damage. Damage is literally the only stat that matters to you at this point. You need approximately e111 or e12 damage (slapping or blowing) to complete the tower but... when you start you'll be lucky to have something like e6.
There's (more or less) only 2 ways to increase your damage at this point.
The first is from the BLC Shop; purchase Bigger Bag upgrades then buy damage upgrades from the various leaf shops, unlock Crafting and make some crafted leaves that boost your damage, get materials to get the Crabbo Pet and Bone Leaf/Fire Leaf to level 10.
The second is to just tough it out in the Leaf Tower. Kill as much as you can (even if it's only a little) and save up for buying damage upgrades in the Silver Token Shop (the flat damage increase is better than the percentage increase, especially for your first purchase). Then save for the Item Drop Rate upgrade and farm for equipment drops in the Leaf Tower.
If you are trying to kill things in the Leaf Tower, don't play the way you usually do. You want to circle the screen edge and blow the leaves INWARDS instead of out. Don't turn off your ALBs, even if they blow leaves off the screen they still probably do more damage than you (or enough to help) at this point.
From now on, your main focus will be to increase your damage.
