moreover, you cant choose the resolution for this game as of now...
Please fix those issues makes the game unbearable to play
1. the game is far from optimized. My rig isn't top of the line anymore by any stretch, it is already a few years old; but I expect it to run the game (much) better than it does. For the record, I have a GTX 1080 (EVGA SC), plugged via thunderbolt 3 on a Skull Canyon (i7-6770HQ) with an m.2 SSD (samsung 970 Pro) and 16GB of DDR4 corsair ram (single channel, CMSO16GX4M1A2133C15). I get *severe* frame drops (avg fps looks like 45 or so, while low 1% is probably in the low single digit), and it looks rather average even tho the settings are at high. I will lower the settings to see if anything gets better.
2. The animations sometimes look weird. I'm talking about arms as long as tree branches.
3. The grabbing system/edge detection is sloppy. Especially with the frame drops, it is sometimes tricky to aim your jumps correctly, and you'll land in places slightly off from where you meant to go, and then the character will endlessly loop in "grab" then "fail to climb".
4. There is no option to disable the mouse acceleration. This is really annoying.
5. Sometimes, when not using the "expected" path, the character will simply fail to grab an edge or a ladder, even though the character obviously slides against said edge/ladder in a very obvious manner.
6. I got stuck behind pipes and in random building parts, and had to restart the game a few times.
That's it for now. I will play some more and will probably come back to edit this post. :)
Thanks for the game, it is fun so far, in spite of the problems.
Unfortunately we don't have enough developers to fix ALL the bugs in the game, especially on the frame drop problems. We advise you to lower the graphics if the game is too unplayable. Thanks again for your interest in our game!
Edit: So finished the game 5 time, while trying to finish the game for the 5th time, i got the 1 km and 10 km really shortly inbetween them, i'm not sure why. still cant get the other one though
- Inconsistent performance. Sometime it runs fine on Ultra. Sometimes it stutters into 20 fps a lot and can't keep up, especially when respawning.
- Swinging in weird, as the animation never lines up with the bars, and sometimes my character never even grabs it and swings, despite doing the arms up animation.
- Character will often grip onto corners on walls when falling, and get stuck, specifically during the districts.
- Character's body clips through camera a LOT, whether you are looking down while standing, or looking forward while running, there's clipping. And the ripped clothes physics keep clipping around itself, that I can't tell what I'm wearing.
- Freeze mechanic is cool, but is harmful more than helpful. Cause' while train bars always work when frozen, even when you swing in between them, the fan can freeze in your way if you didn't freeze it at the right timing, when it'd be better to just move through it when frozen.
- Often found myself going through buildings, whether when skywalking, or just respawning.
- Game crashed when checking personal leaderboard.
- Trains and robots bug out when respawning, as they have to reset positions, but only after the respawn animation, making these were teleport moments, from what it a normally smooth respawn transition.
- Subtitle "This will get complex", in District 2 got stuck until more dialogue happened.
- Subtitles, Black Bands, and maybe other options (haven't tried all of them yet) don't respond to mouse clicks. Had to hold enter key, and release at the right time. I do this because just pressing the enter key make it immediately switch back.
- Tutorial in District 2 about trains got skipped accidentally, cause' I skywalked over it, thinking the height would kill me.
- Find path ability is sometimes unhelpful, as it shows the whole path, and not the path forward from where you are. Like when I was in District 2, and I made a shortcut, used the find path power, but seeing the trail go two opposite ways of a straight path. Unless both ways were forward.
If you can get most, if not all of these fixed, that would be AMAZING! Thank you!
I know that fixing performance is a difficult thing to do, but even on medium settings, with V-sync off, the performance is poor in many moments. This severely hurts the gameplay in speedruns, or when making quick decisions in general, as it can't keep up, and I end up either getting stuck, or falling into respawn.
