You do know when you abandon a mission, you can go back to that area to loot the "ghost" of your car right? So you can get your loot back. I even remember I could loot my old engine if I wanted to (but that would require removing the freshly installed one to swap with the other).
You're then unable to leave the zone without abandoning the attempt, or forcing a teleport you can't get to.
That's basically the opposite of fun, and through no real fault of your own, you've screwed yourself **twice.** That can kinda completely sap you of any advanced materials, and relegate you to grinding for hours to get back into the flow.
Also that mission isn't bug-free. I had it not register the first lock sequence. Sucks. Alot.
Yeah i think they need to redo that part and fix how the mission updates. I made it, removed my old LIM emitter back bumper and stuck the new one on, got the "Put it in your trunk" message. I thought too myself well whats the point in that? So i just ended up putting the LIM shield back onto the back bumper so i could bind the ability. The quest line was fine after that and i'm sure Oppy started talking about how much power the shield would use.
Until I remembered the dang bumper in my trunk LOL
Ultimately, I DO wish there was some sort of reminder from the quest objectives or from the crew themselves. Just something to remind you that they asked you to craft/make that for THIS specific reason.
OR, they let us fit it on the car as an option instead of forcing us to stuff it in the trunk for "safe-keeping".
And don't get me wrong, your point is salient. I'm not disagreeing at all, it's just that after doing this twice, feels like the devs might have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up a bit
You may use the arc emergency warp function to bypass barriers (that dont show up on the map) and from a broken part of the wall, could teleport the car on the otherside even.
I managed to get nack to the garage after 30 mins... but royally pissed off because this ain't the first time.
