Softlocked without LIM Shield?
So if you enter the junction where you're supposed to use the LIM Shield and you don't have it yet, are you just outright softlocked? I had to die or end the run to get out of that junction. That is a complete and abject failure of design if that's the case. Am I missing something obvious here?

savescum until you get a gateway on the outside. of course, the road to there will almost certainly be blocked by a tall wall. however, you can just park it near the wall, climb it from the side and then teleport your car to the other side. ive done this a few times just to farm corrupted anchors lol.

lmao abusing the "unstuck your car" failsafe just to progress is a complete ♥♥♥♥ up

I had a limshield but never activated it... do you HAVE To have it to get past that part but don't actually have to activate it?

I mean I didn't have it and the ejection points were inaccessible and I couldn't backtrack. Abandoned the run and when I got back to the garage, my engine was removed. Undid multiple hours of progress. I'm shelving this game until they fix this. It's inexcusable.

You do know when you abandon a mission, you can go back to that area to loot the "ghost" of your car right? So you can get your loot back. I even remember I could loot my old engine if I wanted to (but that would require removing the freshly installed one to swap with the other).

Yes I'm well aware. That's not the issue here.

or just bring the lim shield they told you to bring.
DragynDance Feb 27, 2024 @ 7:51pm
I didnt even think that was what the lim shield was for, I just drove through all those anomlies. Full armored car can basically ignore them, I only had to stop and repair twice the entire way through all of the circuits of all of the gates.
It's pretty trivial to lose the lim shield. Then not be able to craft it. Then not be able to craft a liberator. Then getting back to the mission location without understanding you can't leave.

You're then unable to leave the zone without abandoning the attempt, or forcing a teleport you can't get to.

That's basically the opposite of fun, and through no real fault of your own, you've screwed yourself **twice.** That can kinda completely sap you of any advanced materials, and relegate you to grinding for hours to get back into the flow.

Also that mission isn't bug-free. I had it not register the first lock sequence. Sucks. Alot.

This. The quest specifically told me to put the LIMshield into the trunk instead of bumper (quest refused to progress otherwise), so I did. When I arrived to the junction, I expected Oppy or someone else to tell me "hey, Driver, that LIMshield you just crafted? Time to put it to good use", so I drove through the devil's grinders, thinking that this is how it supposed to be. Car is 50% armored, 50% insulated, and half of the junction only took me down to yellow health. With abundance of ARDA cars and trucks in the area, that was not a problem, as they constantly spawn blowtorches and materials for repair putty.

Yeah i think they need to redo that part and fix how the mission updates. I made it, removed my old LIM emitter back bumper and stuck the new one on, got the "Put it in your trunk" message. I thought too myself well whats the point in that? So i just ended up putting the LIM shield back onto the back bumper so i could bind the ability. The quest line was fine after that and i'm sure Oppy started talking about how much power the shield would use.

1000%. This is my issue to the T

Ran the route as is- Without the LIM Shield since it was in my trunk as "forced" by the quest- Hit two junctions and broke a number of things, and I WAS considering abandoning and returning with more repair stuff.
Until I remembered the dang bumper in my trunk LOL

Ultimately, I DO wish there was some sort of reminder from the quest objectives or from the crew themselves. Just something to remind you that they asked you to craft/make that for THIS specific reason.
OR, they let us fit it on the car as an option instead of forcing us to stuff it in the trunk for "safe-keeping".

Even better would be preventing you from even entering that junction until you have it. Forcing you out of a softlock is better than just gently suggesting it because you will absolutely softlock

And don't get me wrong, your point is salient. I'm not disagreeing at all, it's just that after doing this twice, feels like the devs might have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up a bit
lyravega Feb 28, 2024 @ 1:01am
Yeah this is another softlock point. But one may recover from it, if you have and/or may be able to gather enough kLIM. Oh, and if you have patience.

You may use the arc emergency warp function to bypass barriers (that dont show up on the map) and from a broken part of the wall, could teleport the car on the otherside even.

I managed to get nack to the garage after 30 mins... but royally pissed off because this ain't the first time.
