Proper head movement execution into a game
People were on the Undisputed band wagon and talking a lot of trash about fight night for the sole fact that it's an old game. However, take a look at some of the vids here exhibiting the head movement system. I remember FNC's head movement system working very well. One of the reasons I don't like UD's head movement is because once you input the command, your boxer fully commits to the "slip" animation and there is no way to perform counters with 'subtle' head movement maneuvers. Also, the left stick click mechanic is super awkward and non intuitive. Another thing is that with the recent series of updates, the free flow combo system, speed of punches, repeatability of punches, one is not going to be clicking left stick in time to actually pull off these slips. They were already clunky as heck before these updates anyway and now its just pointless except for maybe the pull back.

FNC is an instant classic and still holds up to this day. Check these vids out folks:

I agree with what you’re saying on a fundamental level. The slips/head movement in FN are fundamentally better than UD.

However, the gameplay you posted doesn’t look appealing to the eye in comparison to the video I posted.

Whilst the boxing displayed in your videos are nice, it doesn’t LOOK nice because FN is sooo outdated.

Making the slips work in UD requires skill, albeit, I do agree it’s too one dimensional and there is a lack of total control. But when you pull it off, the rewards are huge.

But like I said, I do think they should bring the ‘total control’ head movement in UD.

I would have to respectfully disagree with it not looking good although I will say that the graphics are (obviously) dated. I think they should do away with the left stick click system and incorporate slips/duck unders into the lean modifier system. They should also bring back the directional blocking as well. The game would be lit.
