You use heavy attack when you are near his eye.
When he falles down with his eye being high up, you need to jump on the red things he spawn to get up there.

Taotie creates multiple platforms you can get on once it's downed. The problem sometimes is when it's in a corner, sometimes the platform is inaccessible.

heavy attack.... what do you mean? I play keyboard! heavy attack: the letter "C" "V" I press them when near the eye but there is nothing to happen; a normal blow does damage to the eye!

Did you parry his red attacks? I heard a sound and you didn´t get hit, but there was no red attack parry animation.
Maybe those animations don´t work on your game somehow?
Try validating the files

I find that you need to be right next to the eye and lock on to it to trigger the critical hit. If your lock on reticle is not red, you will just get a normal spirit attack. This usually happens if you’re not near enough

Seems like a bug. You might want to retry the fight.

And if it still doesn't work, try using a different weapon maybe? Or verify game files, but I don't know how to do it on Xbox.
