Will all the dialogue be the same as in the original?
The wording on the developer’s website is a bit ambiguous. On the one hand, they promise that all the jokes will be as we remember them — but then they immediately contradict this by saying that they may be even better than we remember them, implying that they tinkered with them. So what is it now? Will the dialogue be the same or not? I’ve already sent Skunkape Games an e-mail about this, but haven’t heard back from them yet. I’m hesitant about preordering the game until I get a clear answer.

In chapter 6 some of the conversation options with Bosco are missing.
In chapter 3 they changed Bosco disguise from French anarchist Jean-Francis Sissypants to Jean-francis Bande-A-Part, but it's done poorly since Max calls him Jean-Francis Sissypants later on .

Risque? Hahah are you serious? Oh my gosh, this is getting ridicoulus.
Sam and Max are supposed to be at the least mildly offensive and make use of stereotypes. That's the whole point of the series.

Oh boy, if that's why it got replaced... I don't get it, I truly don't. I don't live in America, I don't care about the politics, nor do I want any drama in the old game remasters I buy...

There's literally nothing offensive about the old voice. If anything it makes the character more entertaining and sympathetic.

I don't find it funny, please add the original voice back as an option, I find it a genuine major downgrade for no reason. If somehow for some crazy reason doesn't like it, he can use the other option, everyone's happy.

Then they lied to me. I preordered the game under the condition that the lines remain untouched.

I'll just stick with the original game. I don't need this.

I mean, you realize they still do, right? They didn't edit out Max still calling him "sissypants", so whatever motive you're ascribing probably isn't right.

A subtle joke about Max using some of the nooses in the office to hang people (as a surprise)? Perfectly acceptable.

Making a joke about French being sissypants? Not on my watch!

(Probably shouldn't have said that, now the other joke's at risk, it seems...)

Oh, Ok. Looks like they didnt catch all the "sissypants". Because the "bande a part" doesn't make much sense....

The sissypants thing only shows how Bosco is ridiculous. I don't get why they changed it

I've attached a transcript of the change in episode 3:
Original dialogue:
Bosco:.you may call me, Jean-Francois Sissypants, the cowardly French anarchist.

New dialogue:
Bosco:you may call me, Jean-Francois Bonde-A-Part, the new wave French anarchist.

Later on
Original dialogue:
Bosco: ... or my name is not Jean-francois Sissypants
Max: But you're name's not Jean-francois Sissypants

New dialogue:
Bosco:... or my name is not Jean-Francois Bande-a-part
Max: But you're name's not Jean-Francois Sissypants

The new dialogue doesn't make sense.

lol maybe they should have rewritten the sex change joke by a transgender, so it would still be OK for the 2020 humans, much like Dave Chapelle uses the N word a million times in his comedy routine......

Well this is your chance to give them any requests or comments about the game - the devs over at Skunkape are doing a "playthrough - livestream" of episode one today on Twitch at 5pm Pacific ^_^

I wouldn't mind the dialogue "readjustment".
EDIT: I've come to the realization that they really censored some stuff and I don't like it.

But the new VA delivery is weak compared to the original, I just listened to them side by side.
The new one doesn't sell me the character.

Also I don't know if it's just me or Bosco really sounds out of place compared to Sam and Max.
I get it there is a 15 year gap between recordings, but when Bosco is speaking there is like a disconnect for me, like the voice is not coming from the character rather it's a bad movie dub, maybe it's not mixed properly or is it the lipsync? idk

I found another censored line. “Take our complimentary goggles designed for special-needs children so that the little ones can play along,” was changed into, “Take our complimentary wide-fit goggles designed for playing while bicycling or enjoying full-contact sports!”

And that may have been the last time I ever bought something from you.
