We're still looking into that. But Proton version is going to be tested for sure.

Core of the game is similar, but everything is upgraded. And all new content.

ES1 rooms will not be compatible with ES2. Official rooms are all new content, and community room editor gets a big rework that had to break compatibility. This will enable room builders to create even more impressive stuff.
