I think this is what I was wanting from UFO 50. A mix of custom "retro" games plus a themed world I can actually play around in. Does it accurately represent a period arcade? Not even remotely. In no universe would you be finding vector based score attack games beside eurobeat dance platforms at the same time you're rocking Windows 95. But damn it, the VIBE is there, and that's what matters in the end! Not all of the games were ones I got on with, but there were plenty that I did. Great synthwave tunes, too. Easy recommend! You can safely skip the DLC if you want, too. Nothing in there is tied to the game progression.

Very engaging sim. The cabinets are mostly awesome, and vibes immaculate. 8.5/10.

I wanted to like this game and even got to play it a fair bit in VR, but at the end of the day I felt more like I was playing Laundromat Simulator with some sort of arcade DLC. The annoyance of that main gameplay loop doesn't offset the decent but average arcade games included... the reward ends up not being worth the effort in the end.

Maybe the game gets better and progresses beyond the "laundromat" facade, but you can't force me to slog through gameplay I don't like just to get to the gameplay I want. I genuinely regret this purchase. Even the promo video leans into this laundromat thing, I really don't get it. This is certainly not *my* arcade paradise.
