Seriously. I have ZERO respect for anyone that can't do these simple ass inputs and drive rush combos. Anyone can do these inputs with a whopping 20 minutes a day devoted to learning them.

I mean, in my last 50 games, I've played a total of 9 games against modern controls and have gone 8-1. They think they're playing street fighter because they walk back and forth at the beginning of the match, but then it just degrades into not being able to tech throws, throwing out unsafe DI, wake-up reversals and spamming moves from across the screen. You don't learn anything from playing them because you have to play down to their level and abuse idiotic strategies like jumping like a moron to avoid the inevitable special being thrown out from an unsafe distance, but whatever. they paid the cost of admission, let them think they're fighting game players.

Just lame it out, I've yet to meet a Modern player that doesn't just mash out auto-combos. If you force them to come to you and play the video game, they fall to pieces, it's not that complicated.

Someone who is playing modern controls likely has no idea what terms you are even mentioning. The only thing they know how to do is push triangle while holding down whatever button is assigned to auto. This generation of players wants shortcuts and hand holding to make them feel good about not putting the time in to learn the game properly.

Just good way to get casuals excited about the game. This is the best selling SF game since SF2 and it's variations, so clearly it's working. Only a fraction of casuals stay after playing, but that doesn't matter when bulk of the casual sales already turned the game into a success. After a while the remaining casuals who have been turned into core fans and original core fans will keep the game afloat with hype and DLC and turn the next SF into a success. Pretty much the basic cycle of any game.
