Hope you're enjoying the Halloween fest as much as we are.

As you already know, Road to Hollow Hills has been a passion project for years... a much larger and more ambitious horror experience than what most small indie studios dare to attempt! Development takes time, funding, and a lot of perseverance... and that’s where something exciting comes in:

Perpetuo now available on Steam in Early Access. A demo will be available pretty soon.

Perpetuo is not just a side project... it is:

Before I get to the point I just wanna say Wow. what a solid experience the demo was. It calls back to the classics of survival horror while being fresh and unique. Not to mention the amazing sound design, graphics and atmosphere. And these monster designs! Those guys with a bunch of branches sticking out seriously freaked me out. Great job so far, really. Patch Notes - Halloween Fest Update 🎃

Happy Halloween! This spooky season brings more than just tricks and treats; we're thrilled to introduce a series of updates and fixes to enhance your experience in Road to Hollow Hills. We updated the game trailer as it will show more closer the new levels contained in the demo. Here’s what’s new since our last update:

A new trailer!

Gameplay Improvements

Intro Motorbike Level Restored: Revamped and ready for the ride! Start your journey in true style.
National Park Update: The second visit to the National Park now features a thrilling storm, heightening the atmosphere and challenge.

Combat & Animation Adjustments

Revised Enemy Attack Animations & Behavior: Enemies now feel more dynamic and challenging, with smoother animations and refined attack patterns.
Fixed Unique Enemy Spawns: Addressed issues with certain unique enemies not spawning correctly.
Kick Adjustment: Kicks now use melee damage instead of weapon damage.
Fixed Aiming Animations: Corrected some aiming animations for a more fluid targeting experience.

Character Updates

New Female Dryad Voices: Added multiple new voice lines for female Dryads, increasing their immersion and distinctiveness.
Updated John’s Head Model: Enhanced visuals for John's character head model. Is pretty much WiP, but we wanted to have it included in this patch.
John’s Facial Animations: John's face now animates during attacks, adding more life and personality to his combat moves.

Bug Fixes

Lumberjack House Fix: Prevented players from breaking out of bounds behind the lumberjack's house.
General Settings Window: Corrected several input issues.
Resolution & Fullscreen/Window Mode: Resolved issues affecting display settings.
Mouse Input for Jacket Selection: You can now use the mouse to select jackets.

And for the people who played the old demo, this is a wonderful moment to play the updated demo, with new content which was released on March of this year.

Hello everyone!

We're thrilled to share the latest updates of Road to Hollow Hills and the improvements we've made in the demo. While this week's changes may not be numerous, they are equally significant. Here's the rundown:

Fixes:

We've fixed the inconsistency that prevented rolling after falling to the ground from an impact. It should now work correctly in all instances.
The game logo panel in Shadowed Grove will no longer appear every time we return from the Mental Palace.
Further adjustments have been made to combat collisions for a smoother gaming experience.

Improvements:

Attention! City enemies will now reveal their true nature when damaged, becoming even more dangerous.
Minor cosmetic changes have been made to all levels to enhance the visual experience.
It's now possible to dodge while in guard/aim mode, adding a new layer of strategy to combat.
We've fine-tuned the scoring system upon completing the demo, also showing how much optional content has been completed for better feedback.

Inventory bug

I have been playing the demo for a while and now for some strange reason, the left panel in the inventory is showing all empty boxes like I lost what I was wearing and the lantern. So now I can no longer see well in the dark.

Loving the Demo – A Bit of Navigation Feedback

Hey! I’ve been playing a lot of survival horror lately, and I’m really excited for this game. The intro trailer was awesome and totally grabbed my attention. I can’t wait to see more! One thing I struggled with a bit in the demo was figuring out where to go. I’m not sure if I missed something at the start, but I kept getting turned around and felt like I was backtracking a lot without making progress. A simple map or objective hint would help a ton, even if it’s something the character draws as ...

Saving progress in this game

Is the only way to save in this game is to find one of those altars? I just lost a ton of progress playing the demo. And is saving limited to how many shingles you have? Why is there no easy way to save?
