And then delete the folder with the demo and the full version of the game? And check if it helps?
We've just released a patch for the game as well, so redownloading the full game might also help (it might be a problem with some missing file).

I found this folder and removed it, then started a game. It didn't help - the game still does not work. When I started it again the first time after the folder removal, this folder was created again. There is a file there: C:\Users\[USER_NAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Different Tales\Heart of the Forest\Player.log. It contains technical information that I don't understand. At the end of this file, there is a message: "A crash has been intercepted by the crash handler. For call stack and other details, see the latest crash report generated in:
* C:/Users/[USER_NAME]/AppData/Local/Temp/Different Tales/Heart of the Forest/Crashes". I found this folder too. It is full of crash reports. :) Each crash report folder contain 3 files: crash.dmp, error.log, and Player.log. Maybe info from that files can help to understand what causes this problem?
I need a way to reset the game settings without starting the game. Something like a file settings.ini, which I fail to find. AFAIR, the game used to crash when I changed settings. Maybe a reset can help?
I redownloaded the game again, and also tried to fix the game's files via Steam - didn't help.
Could you send us the crash report files at support@differenttales.com?
Yeah, it will help us discover what's really going on there - Sorry for the trouble.
The game keeps showing up in Steam update queue every day, only to complete the update with 0 bytes downloaded. Reinstall didn't help, and I did check my antivirus, no false detection there.

Can you uninstall the game and install it again to see if this will solve the problem?

As mentioned, I did try reinstalling the game. I tried once more, it didn't help.

From what we've managed to find, it's a problem related to the Steam platform, as multiple users are finding similar problems with their game library --> https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/ande3w/all_games_keep_updating/
Maybe you can find a specific solution to your problem when you check a particular solution that also helped other users.

I am having the exact same issue. Did anyone find a fix for this?

The game doesn't start. I tried uninstalling it and instaling again, but nothing changes. I click the icon or the play button in my steam library, a small steam window opens saying it is preparing the game to open, but then nothing else happens. The games gives as running in my library, even though nothing is happening or opening, then goes back to the play button as if the invisible game has shut itself off seconds later. What do I do?
For the players who are unable to launch the game, please try the solution provided below.

1. Remove the content of the folder located at:
C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\LocalLow\Different Tales\Heart of the Forest
2. Turn off the cloud saves for this title.
3. Launch the game.
4. If the problem no longer persists you may turn on your cloud saves again.

The problem is connected to some random crash happening during saving of the game, and later this broken save is being uploaded to the cloud. Making this workaround, the game can create a fresh save without the crash and properly proceeding with loading the game's content.
Hello. I just bought the game. Not sure what caused it but the moment I enter the game, my mouse cursor will start to move on its own which makes it a hassle to click on stuffs. The problem disappears as soon as I close the game. I would appreciate some help so that I can start playing and enjoying the game.
There are two things likely to cause this, assuming that you don't have a faulty mouse/driver:

1) Enhanced Pointer Precision (mouse settings) and/or Windows Accessibility options (that can sometimes 'helpfully' get turned on by accident). These can muck with the mouse cursor in various ways.

2) You have some other input device (gamepad, joystick, pedal board, etc) plugged in and it's generating phantom input. Unplug them all and see if that helps (after restarting).

Yah, unplugging the gamepad did the trick. Thank you
i am having issues playing the game, when i launch the game in full screen the game opens, however after it open it minimizes itself, i have been able to get around this by going in and changing the device settings in the game files and playing in window mode, however when i try and put the game into full screen it minimizes itself. i tried to change the resolution from 1440 to 1920 in the device settings but the same issues arises where trying to play in full screen causes the game to minimize.
The music volume in the credits remains in 100% no matter what you do in the options.
so im having issues playing. i dont get any picture after i click on the start icon from steam. ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling and ive also tried deleteing the folder nothing helps. thanks in advance
