The same thing happened to me, I've entered the game with the non-skippable cutscene to see that there is no save.

Steam should accept refunds regardless of hours, it's insanely broken...

same thing happened to me this morning 8.5 hour save file gone and the cloud save replaced by a empty save

Stop using the cloud its a loaded gun, need your save backed up? its a simple as copy and pasting in your backup folder its what you should be doing.

i had a manual save for the game wasn't relying on a auto save for the game, and some how all of my save data is gone. i had the game saved locally and even that file was just gone

After reading these stories I decided to manually copy all my save files from the game's save folder :D
