No, you need to be on different computers. We have thought about "Hotseat" Multiplayer, but it would not make much sense, because if other players see your monitor, the whole social deduction thing would be broken. And asking other players not to look won't work, because the whole fun of same-computer-multiplayer is usually watching each other and commenting on each other's actions.
We are going to release a mobile version some day, it will make "the same room" multiplayer possible (on different devices though). But not this year for sure.
20$? Scythe is less and *has* Remote Play Together. You can do some load screen when switching players. If you were to make the likely minor alterations required to support this your sales would skyrocket, just sayin.
