好评给ME1重制。说白了传奇版其实就是买ME1重制送官方高清材质+ENB(传奇版的ME2和ME3可以直接读取/导入老版的ME2/3的存档，只要复制到传奇版的存档文件夹下面就行)。这点在1080p的三代非常明显，和老ME3比较也可以说几乎没有肉眼可见的画面进步。如果你是情怀玩家，怀念一代武器散热的设定的话，购买传奇版将是非常好的选择。如果囊中羞涩且希望用中文游玩的新老玩家，还是买老版本然后参考疯猫的视频自己打各种画质增强补丁就行，尤其是ME2和ME3。

PS.关于汉化，因为游戏没有换引擎（就是冲着这点才买的，毕竟换了寒霜的话精力有限折腾不来），简单分析了下，重新做一个字库文件，最多再重新打包一下文本，三代的汉化（玩家汉化，作为前玩家汉化技术，文本我手里有）应该可以保证完美移植。二代轩辕汉化同理，不过需要整理一下外挂汉化的文本。只有一代会麻烦一点，一个是一代重制文件结构和2/3这种相当于打MOD差别很大，另一个是一代轩辕组没有发布外挂版本的汉化，需要从老版一代汉化提取文本。ME3玩家汉化移植成功的话，我会及时在质量效应吧放出，各位可以去贴吧下载。

PPS 吧宝代码应该可以直接用原版游戏的，问题不大。

Pretty fun. I'm 55 y.o.. Had to watch a ton of youtube videos to learn how to to get through everything but since I haven't played any video games in many years, I'm just glad I finished it. There is a ton of content, which is the main reason I like it. Lots of story line twists that make player decisions consequential. The story can arc different directions based on player choices, which really adds value IMHO.

If there's anyone out there who still hasn't played the Mass Effect trilogy yet, I have two things for you:

First thing is this collection should be a no brainer purchase. You get all 3 games and pretty much everything they have to offer.

The second thing is I am extremely jealous that you get to experience this masterpiece of a trilogy for the first time.

最近终于通关了质量效应传奇版，简直荡气回肠。不过因为年代和限制，游戏过程中仍然有很多不爽的地方，在NEXUS上找了些MOD解决了。这里做一些相应的介绍。
以下仅亲测保证Steam正版使用正常。本文完成于2021年8月初，如果日后游戏更新可能造成此下载链接中的MOD不能正常使用，请自行去NEXUS更新。LE1代表传奇版1代，依此类推。

从Steam上下载好这个120G的游戏后，请一定用Steam运行一遍游戏，此时会执行安装脚本还有装烂橘子平台什么的（需要新申请账号），直到能成功进入那个选三代游戏的界面，才可以退出，接下来正常的打MOD/装汉化。

0. MOD管理器
目前最广泛使用的是ME3Tweaks Mod Manager。

使用方法：游戏安装并运行退出后，打开MOD管理器，会自动检测好游戏安装位置。
点击“Mod Management”→“Import Mod”→“Import mods from archive file”→选择你刚才下载好的mod→选择MOD安装时的对应选项→Import mods。之后在软件左侧列表中会出现你刚才安装的MOD，点选后选择软件界面右下角的Apply Mod（应该是）。
注意：运行游戏的同时不需要运行MOD管理器，也就是你打好MOD后直接从Steam启动即可。此外每一代的MOD都是独立的，所以像改视野FOV的MOD需要每代各装一次。
此外，由于质量效应不像老滚那样有巨量的MOD可用，因此MOD管理器也相对简单，装好MOD时会直接改游戏文件的。所以如果需要卸载MOD的话，可能要在重新在Steam中验证文件完整性（应该有其他的方案，我没卸载过MOD，英文好的朋友可以研究下教程）。


1.汉化（重要：开始游戏后请一定自己起名并且一定要用英文名，否则不能正常存档！！即使是默认的“约翰”/“简”都不行！！）
目前传奇版能用的汉化分两类：3DM汉化（LE全三代）和虎头汉化（仅LE3），安装方式也有如下两种方案（选一种即可）。

1.1 可以使用3DM汉化包安装程序汉化：
去3DM论坛下载最新的3DM汉化，直接安装即可（安装过程可能会误报病毒，所以需要事先关闭杀毒软件。此外安装时请耐心等待）。

质量效应系列是非常蛋疼的75度视角，视野太小容易头晕，还容易被卡死，设置里还没有选项更改。使用改视角MOD可以解决这个问题。安装时可选择80度、90度、100度、110度视角。建议至少选择90度视角，大屏幕的话可以选更大一些。

二代里探索星球来找资源以及登陆地点是非常麻烦的事情，需要反复尝试极耗时间。装了这个MOD，直接往星球上随便哪个地方扔探测器就行了，会自动收集完所有资源并显示“登陆”（如果有的话）。

3.4 DLC Timings Mod DLC时间调整（LE2）

把几个DLC任务的开启时间向后推迟了，只有在完成某些任务后才会正常开启（具体见N网说明），减少违合感，不过也可能不自由，所以还是按需要安装吧。

3.5 Miranda Buttshots Restored 米兰达臀部运镜 (LE2&LE3)

LE3星系内找东西时每次探测范围非常小，探测多了还会引来收割者追杀，烦死了。用这个MOD只要探一下就能探好整个星系的东西，就算警觉值满了收割者也不会来追杀你。

似乎是广受好评的原版MOD，看描述有老滚那些增强游戏功能MOD的味道了。但目前移植到传奇版的工作尚未完全完成，有兴趣的勇士可以自行下载尝试。

If you already have all the Mass Effect games and their DLC, this version isn't super easy to recommend unless you're just a hyper-fan, such as myself. However, if you're a person that does not possess all three games and their DLC in one place, I can highly recommend this version.

The mouse and keyboard controls for these games are subpar, truth be told. Especially for ME1 where it originally never told you that you can drag and drop abilities into the hotbar. These games were designed for consoles first. The original release dates span from 2007-2012. Designing games for console first was/is just how the Triple A industry functioned, especially at the time. We're seeing a slight shift away from that now and I suppose you could argue they should have changed how the game functions in this remaster, but I would contend that this version is essentially a collection with improved visuals more than anything else. It's simply not a remake.

Beyond the basic graphics settings such as anti-aliasing and v-sync, there's almost nothing else. Even the brightness setting is buried in “calibration” rather than video settings. Luckily, the games are all pretty old and don't require much to run anymore. Though, for a remaster especially, it's disheartening to not even have things like an FOV slider. Ultrawide support works, but it's got black bars on the side during cutscenes — which, in my experience of using ultrawide for the past year and half, it's pretty common for “official 21:9 support” — but still very disheartening to not see it implemented properly.

Depending on which Mass Effect you ask me of, I've played them 3-5 times through, prior to this version. However, one thing I cannot truly comment on is the differences that importing a save can do. As I have never done it. Essentially every playthrough of each game was a brand new Shepard to me. I've played ME1 and ME2 mostly on X360, truth be told. It wasn't until ME3 that I started playing on PC. So from that aspect alone, this is version offers me something I've never actually seen.

I won't talk much about the story — you're either like me, in that, you've already played these games multiple times or you're somewhere between never having gotten into them or possibly having never even heard of them. So it's a moot point of contention.

This is still the most important and classic of the series.

But no worries, it's still very much ME1. You'll need to spec into specific weapon types to do real damage. It's most assuredly improved, in that, you won't miss someone two feet away if you're not leveled into the weapon type nor will the sniper rifle sway be so absurd—as if Shepard had never held a weapon before. But ME1 remains the most traditional as far as RPG elements of all the games.

Though, ME1 was not without faults:
One of the mains issues with ME1 can be seen in a similar design aspect from Dragon Age Inquisition, similarities include the intro being action packed, then followed by an extreme amount of exposition in a semi-convoluted map. Tedious tutorial quests posing as fetch-quests give little to no urgency to the main story. Essentially not telling the player that they could leave. (Citadel, Hinterlands)

The other issues I've always had is that in requiring you to perform paragon or renegade actions to earn more dialogue options disables you to be more neutral. Without the points, you're unable to choose certain dialogue later on making certain situations impossible to have a favorable outcome without prior knowledge and preparation.

Many purport Mass Effect 1 to be rather clunky — when what they mean to say is that it's not a great shooter. That's because ME1 was actually much closer to a traditional RPG. The way you spec'd a character and the party members you brought were paramount to success — putting points into specific weapons types increased your accuracy and damage. Having party members that either specialized in tech or biotics—the things that you didn't—mattered. Whereas ME2 and 3 are essentially action games, almost completely devoid of any role-playing aspects outside of dialogue choices.

There's less loot/inventory management in ME2 and 3. Combat is more strait-forward as well — they become relatively generic cover-shooters at this stage. [This is not inherently negative.] ME2 — armor/weapons/upgrades are either researched or purchased or you'll discover blueprints. Only skills are leveled into, no longer weapon types—dictated rather by class. Which essentially boil down to three types: Adept, Soldier and Engineer. Specialists in Biotics, Combat and Tech respectively. However, there are also what I call half n' half classes in Vanguard—Biotic/Combat, Sentinel— Tech/Biotic and finally Infiltrator— Tech/Combat. These are persistent through the entire series.

Other things like cover being auto-entered in ME1—ME2 introduced vaulting and thermal clips—heavy ammo. The guns behave like traditional weapons that need to be reloaded. ME3 also introduces active-roll/dodge and a more robust melee system.

This genre shift is similar to what we observed in the Dragon Age series where the mechanics in Origins to DA2 was akin to something like Baldur's Gate turning into Diablo. Again, these are not inherently bad choices, I love me a good action game. But I've felt for a long time that when establishing a new IP, shifting their core mechanics in this slightly off-putting, if not pernicious way ended up taking away what made those games special in the first place. Turning a fervent niche into a drab, generic blockbuster hit for the masses. This focus-shift to action culminates in Andromeda.

It's no different from the originals, as far as I can tell.

1. ME1 uses a total points system earned by choices that then unlock the charm/intimidate stats that need to be leveled into to unlock other dialogue options.
   
   
2. ME2 uses choices to change paragon/renegade percentage. Charm/Intimidate stat removed and replaced by the ability to interrupt dialogue instead.
   
   
3. ME3 uses a reputation system that both paragon/renegade points go into.

You're able to alter the appearance and class of your Shepard, even if importing a save. You can also play differently as far as paragon/renegade—somewhere in the middle each game. The way you play has more immediate effects. However, the games feature many major decisions that have far reaching — and often unforeseen — consequences going into the other games.

ME1 to ME2 hacking mini-game switches from circle frogger to timed variations of matching games. ME3 essentially has no mini-games instead focusing on “Total Military Strength” as a sort of meta-game. The original multiplayer part that went into this score is no longer used.

In ME1, the galaxy map is simply menu to be navigated. In ME2, there are no more sites to be landed on and explored with the Mako, instead you'll find anomalies that you'll shuttle down to. The galaxy map becomes more interactable. You directly control the ship's movements and this costs fuel. Resource gathering is then performed by scanning and sending probes down. ME3 focuses on scanning and obtaining War Assets.

Note: This review won't be about the game or the story itself really- it's the same trilogy we fell in love with. Rather, this review is to primarily focus on the changes between the original games and the Legendary Edition.

The most obvious changes are the graphics, and wow does it stand out. In all three games, especially in Mass Effect 3 did it look very polished, detailed, and rendered beautifully. The lighting as well as the scenery stood out, more visually than before and the special effects as well as the atmosphere ... all in 4k. Characters also look polished and not as ugly anymore, though the models in Mass Effect 1 definitely aren't going to look as good as those in ME 2 & 3.

Surprisingly something we didn't ask for, but was much needed. Now it's very easy to pause the game whenever (even during combat) and just zoom in, rotate the camera, change filters, adjust the brightness or blur out the background to make the characters focused, ect. The amount of screenshots and pictures I took is insane, and a very welcome edition to this game. Trust me, go to Discord or Reddit devoted to Mass Effect, and the amount of pictures is staggering.

Unlike the previous games on PC, they did not come with Controller Support. You would of had to install a program online or do specific steps in getting it to work with your controller, and even then it was a pain. Now you can just use an Xbox One controller or a PC controller without issue. As someone who grew up playing on console, this was a must have for me to enjoy the game more.

While I didn't think they would do it, a number of things (appearances, design, events, ect) have been changed. I came across a few things they changed for the better, and one in particular is a spoiler in ME 3, but it was so good to see them change (involves Tali). The biggest changes are likely in ME 1, with environment changes and how the layout looks, along with the fact combat is more smooth and balanced in ME 1 now. In ME 2 & 3, it's unchanged for the most part, but the interface as well as quality of life improvements are there.

I won't lie, despite I loved playing Legendary Edition, there was numerous problems I came across. One major issue stemmed from collision. In ME 1, 2, and 3, sometimes Shepard will find himself going over terrain or passing over into a wall, only to get stuck and nothing will fix that unless you restart a save or the mission itself. Another issue is the flare being incredibly bright at times, even toning it down to it's lowest, the flare and 'shine' of things can be blinding. Sometimes lip syncing is a bit off (ME 1 and ME 3 had a few instances of this) and followers not popping in at times. There is also no multiplayer which was a massive let down. I loved the multiplayer in ME 3, being able to play any race was so incredible and the wave of enemies per round was exciting to survive in with my friends. I wish they included it.

My biggest issue with all 3 games was the AI. At times, the enemy AI can be dumb to auto bot levels depending on the circumstances. I played on Insanity and ME 2 had every enemy become an auto bot, always aiming for me in a split second with 100% perfect accuracy and never aiming for anyone else, even walking PAST my allies to shoot me. Then you have my AI squadmates being very broken or dumb, depending on again, the circumstances. In ME 1, they were so useless it was painful. In ME 2, they were alright but had some dumb moments. In ME 3, they could carry me and I would look at my phone as they did all the work (if you build them right). Balance and AI are a big problem in Legendary, and I hope they improve AI for everyone's sanity.

Truth be told, if you want to relive the trilogy and have an excuse, I say go for it. The price is reasonable despite a lot of people want the game cheaper or free if they own the original games already. But if you think about it, all 3 games ($20 each) plus every DLC released are free in Legendary Edition. But apart from that, despite I did very much enjoy playing this trilogy all over again, the changes aren't that big in scope. Mostly just better graphics, better framerate, adjustments in combat and adding a few changes to scenes / design of things. If you're a huge fan like me and don't mind, then yea it is worth. But if you aren't that impressed with the perks of Legendary Edition, you aren't missing out on too much. Legendary Edition is like the old trilogy but in nicer paint, polished, and got some upgrades. But even with that said, this was such a treat and I enjoyed every moment, even with the stacked cons. Amazing series overall, a must have whether it's the older games or Legendary Edition.

Great game, looks great, super fun, plays well. Why don't I recommend then?

Because you don't own it, you're renting it. EA has this locked up behind a required login. For an offline single player game.
- do not buy this game to play on your steam deck when offline
- do not buy this game if you hate having to type your complex password every time you want to play for a few minutes.
- do not buy this game if you believe that EA will, at any moment, decide they're done and turn off the login server, preventing you from ever playing your game again.
- do not buy this game because EA should be punished for this idiocy

Imagine my frustration, when halfway through an 8 hour airplane ride, I switch back to this (after a quick break to play some Hades) , which I was playing in offline mode just an hour ago, only to find that I must now log in to EA's online server to continue my game in offline mode, and thus cannot play any more for the entire duration of my flight.

However if you're okay with all that, and want to support a garbage company with garbage policies designed to illustrate just how much they hate you then go ahead and buy the game. It's really quite good and you'll want to replay it many many times and far into the future to see what happens when you make other choices. It's QUITE good on the Deck if you configure gyro aiming!

It's just too bad you won't be ABLE to play in the future because EA will have turned off the login server. 😎

Boycott mandatory online logins for single player games, it is a stain upon gaming.

UPDATE 2023/05/13:
EA has switched from their old "origins" launcher to the new EA launcher, which brings the following new features:
- It is now **COMPLETELY** impossible to launch the game in offline mode, you MUST have an internet connection.
- The launcher no longer recognizes the steam deck "controller" and you must use the touch-screen to navigate into the actual game.
- The launcher now takes approximately 72 years to start on the steam deck. Not the game, that loads nice and quick, the *launcher*. To get to the launcher, where you must then *FIND* the game you want to play in the morass of other games EA is hoping you'll buy. Once you have discovered the actual Mass Effect screen you *MIGHT* be able to launch the game, but chances are the "play game" button will be offscreen on the deck and the EA launcher provides no way to scroll down to actually press "play game". (Edit: In fairness this seems to have been fixed at least.)

Revised opinion: EA is a blight upon humanity. We should build them a throne made of running chainsaws and install them upon it. Steam should actually ban games that do this and go let them rot in obscurity until they learn to play nice.

Also, what a fantastic game, so much fun to play. I can't recommend it highly enough. One of the few games I'll play through multiple times. I wish I didn't have to say that, but it wouldn't be fair not to. A truly excellent game, ruined only by a truly despicable publisher.

So i used to play this game years ago on my older brother`s Xbox, not understanding a thing that was going on. My brother ended up passing away a couple years ago so when i saw that this game was being remastered i had to get it and see why my brother loved this game so much. After beating it i saw why he loved this beautiful game and why he talked about it so much. 10/10 Great game
