17日を楽しみに待っています。
What was previously announced meant that people could create and download content from Steam with ease, and just a few clicks, which was very appealing, and a big plus to this release.
Now, we'll have to wait ages to download the editor from some website outside of Steam (that can be taken down at any moment, meaning users would no longer have access to the editor), and download campaigns also from other websites, which again can be taken down at any moment, and users would no longer be able to re-download this content.
So, and if I'm reading your words correctly, in an apparent attempt not to cause "discomfort" to the old users, as you call it, you cause "discomfort" to the "new" Steam users?
Why not have the editor both on Steam, and outside of Steam? And allow Steam users to use workshop to distribute their scenarios?
I really hope you reconsider this.
エディタもより良いものとして使わせていただけること、お待ちしています。
ゲーム公開前に自作のシナリオの手直しをしたいので、シナリオ製作者が「公開/非公開」を切り替えられるツールの配布は迅速にお願いします。
Your concerns about the editor are probably valid. If so, you should support this game. A game that is supported by its users will last much longer.
Finally. The scenario for this game is a few dozen MB at most.
I play PC games for 40 years, so naturally, I'm used to install plenty of mods and user content from outside of Steam, long before Steam Workshop was a thing.
But, in my experience, after a couple of years the websites that host this user content are usually gone, and you want to re-download something and it's hard to find it.
That's why Steam Workshop support is very convenient.
There are games that are no longer available on Steam (for example, because the developers no longer exist), and the workshop files remain available.
With the editing tools possibly a year away from "proper" release, I hope you do re-consider adding Steam Workshop support in the future.
As for supporting the game, despite being an English language user, and knowing the first version will lack a translation, it was always my intention to buy your game as soon as it's available on Steam, so count me in!
The postponement of the release ruined (my) Summer 2021, now the release saves Christmas 2021! :-)
I am glad that there will be no dependency on Steam, this makes it more likely for a possible GOG release.
What does that have to do with anything?
Couldn't the Steam version have Steam Workshop support, and a possible GOG version have manual installation of user content?
As a result, there is no longer a "special server" for devotees of Steam's functionality, so in this title, everyone gets access to the same library of user scenarios, no matter where they purchase. but at this point, we are not at the stage of discussing other store.
Please hire a native English speaker. Your English is very bad.
While I do understand that it would be more convenient for you to have everything in one place, please stop being selfish and understand that this is already a monumental task as it is, bringing this game to Steam, and just deal with the DLC solution for now. It's not really a problem. The size is marginal at most and if your concern is whether or not the website will be trustworthy to download from... Well, they wouldn't tell you to get it from there if it wasn't, right?
At the end of the day, just be glad that we're finally getting this game in the modern era. You have absolutely no grasp of how much red tape this guy has to go through (and is STILL going through) just to make this happen. Anything from the Wizardry 8 era and before is an absolutely NIGHTMARE to handle in terms of licensing issues and it's why most companies and individuals avoid it like the plague because it's just not worth the hassle for them, and I honestly can't say I blame them. They're investing so much time, effort, resources, and money into this project, so I'm going to support them the best way I can.
Anyway! I expressed my gratitude on their Twitter account, so all I can do now is wait for early access to finally begin in a few days. Fortunately, this worked out in the end for me at least since I had a birthday recently and was thinking about what to spend this money on, lol.
