Here are something to try if you are having problems starting up the game:

Ensure the drivers for your video card, sound card, motherboard and processor are up-to-date

Ensure you are not overclocking

Setting the graphics preference for the program to be "High Performance"

Disabling your background applications:
- Go to the Start menu on your Desktop. Press the Windows key and the letter R at the same time.
- Type in MSCONFIG and press Enter.
- Uncheck the Load Startup items box, then select the Services tab.
- Check Hide all Microsoft services, then click the option to Disable All.
- Press Apply, then Close and pick the option to Restart.

Note: Any changes can be reverted by returning to the MSCONFIG utility and re-selecting "Normal Startup".

Disconnecting any external sound device or second monitor
Having multiple devices could confuse Unreal Engine and cause crashes.
Applications with virtual devices such as Voicemeeter Banana have been known to cause issues.

Run the game as administrator

hello, I have the message microsoft visual c++ 2015 missing. It propose me to instal it so I said yes. The game instaled it but when I want to start the game I have the same message again. How can I fix this?

I have a similar problem.

i was gifted this game and had to return it but I still plan on buying it myself some other time if I think I could solve the problem.

On first install, I was prompted to install "vc_runtimeMinimum_x86.msi" but the suggested path of "C:\Program Data\ -long name here-\v14.10.25008\packages\vc_runtimeMinimum_x86/vc_runtimeMinimum_x86.msi " could'nt be found.
I tried to install it manually from MS site but I found myself going in circles.
If i cancelled that prompt, it DID take me to the opening screen but because of this error, I didn't think it was going to run properly anyway, so I ended up returning it.

If there is a definite answer to this, I will reconsider buying it again.

I need help. My single player game is now crashing a lot. But it was normal. I can't play the game now cuz its crashing and unreal crash screen is appearing. Please! What's happening? win 10 16ram nvidia gtx 960 i7, asus motherboard, 1920x1080, i play at high resolution on small maps and I like to play only on small maps. When I play low res the game crash a bit less

You can define the game as an exception in your antivirus software, that should solve the problem. The way how to do this depends on the antivirus software, so I cannot tell you the details.

My game is crashing after a few minutes and I have done everything possible to fix it like update graphic card, allocate ram and the steps above...

did i break the game??so i just got it and am playing and out of nowhere all production and building has stopped,not sure why only at just over 150 population,any help would be great..

it crashes a few minutes into the game after i have set up some buildings.

I am not sure if this is the right thread to post this but my game kept on crashing when I reached 350 population and speed it up to 4x.

My game runs realy BAD (fps drops <20 now) since the last Update :(

16gb 3200 cl14

Changed every Setting to LOW but the frames start to drop if the rains begins, and now its sunny... and the same ;/ , dont know why. Cant reproduce the problem.
