Game doesn't recognize the Steam Deck as a controller but as a keyboard after the update
Hello! I finished TOEM on the Steam Deck and it was perfect, but after the update I can't play anymore, the game doesn't recognize the Deck as a controller but as a keyboard :( Any idea how to fix it? Thank you so much ♥

I also re-verified the game files right before that, but I think I tried that before without success.

Could you send a video or photo of it? We don't see any reason why this would have happened after the most recent update as it worked fine before.

Hey, sorry to bump this thread but I ran into the same issue. It worked great before the update but right now the game boots, I can use the controller to skip the intro videos, but in the main menu no button is recognized. I also connected an Xbox controller but that doesn't seem to fix it. I can only control the menu using the touchscreen but nothing else.

It seems like the game recognizes the controller (as in the Steam Deck itself) but sticks to keyboard and mouse controls. Maybe because of the touchscreen, or the touchpads on the Steam Deck? Unfortunately it's difficult for me to record a video.

Can't wait to play the new update, it sounds great :)

Hi! We don't currently have a steamdeck to test towards so we're unsure what could have caused this unfortunately that also means we're unlikely to patch this anytime soon.
Sorry for the lackluster update but there's only so much we can do!

Bummer, but I understand. :)

I don't know if there has been an update, but it works flawlessly on my deck, without doing anything special.
The trackpads work well and the gyro as well.

Well, no, I still can't play it with steam deck :( It still recognizes the deck as a keyboard and nothing works

That's weird. I really haven't done anything special at all.... And I can't find a way to reproduce any of your problem...
Do you have the latest stable SteamOS version ?
Maybe try with Proton Experimental ?

Hey! I haven't tried this Experimental Proton, I'll have a look thanks!! But yea, I have the latest stable SteamOS :(
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
