We would definitely love to but we can't make any promises yet. Our team is just 2 devs and neither of us run Linux regularly, and we don't want to release anything half-baked. We'll be keeping an eye out for potential solutions though (Steam Deck save us!)

well i give you a heads up on that.. i tried the demo and it works on the latest Proton, so you guys are safe on the Steam Deck i guess.
Hopefully you think of the linux users if you have a little time to expand your OS horizon :P
Also would be nice if the full version could handle different aspect ratios.

Thank you! Yeah real configuration options have been high on our list for quite a while, we just haven't quite set aside the time for it yet. Those I can promise for sure by Early Access release though :)

I have very-very big performance issues on the old PC with proton and this game.
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) 9550
Temperature raises up to 80 degrees right in the main menu. So, native version would be better if it's possible. And thanks for demo, guys.

We have seen a few issues like this even in native Windows, could you check and see if Vsync is enabled? If it isn't then Unity tries to run the game as fast as physically possible, which is very unnecessary.

Unfortunately we likely won't be able to support a native linux build. Linux native was actually working with only minor issues on Ubuntu but ironically was very broken on the Steam Deck, whereas the Deck's proton implementation works perfectly.

Just to confirm that this is not a general Linux issue: EA runs smoothly on my laptop with Proton Experimental 3.7
