Audiosurf
QuestViewer.exe has stopped working, just when the game starts up?!
Audiosurf keeps crashing once the window pops up, it doesn't say Preparing to launch Audiosurf in the steam popup but goes straight to the game, but it suddenly crashes. I have no idea what's happening but I think it's because I had a spider virus and it's causing it. Tried several quick scans and a custom one now (Full takes like 12 hours to finish). I need help really bad D:

I'm getting the same thing. I REALLY doubt I have any viruses. I'm using a fresh win7 install. If I get it working I'll post an update.
The only thing that worked for me was to delete Audiosurf and redownload. (The second game I had to do that with tonight...)
I revalidated the files, seems to be working again. Thanks :)
Change your resolution in the options to match your current monitor's resolution, then you will be able to do fullscreen without crashing.

I had this problem about 30 minutes ago, and this worked for me.
I've been having this problem as well, and it seems to be caused by the latest Steam Update.
Before then, the same thing happened when I participated in the Steam Beta.
♥♥♥♥ its happening again -.-
I'm getting the exact same thing. I've verified game files, nothing. Uninstalled then re-installed, still nothing. It's happened to me before in the past, last time I just verified the game files and bingo worked fine. This time round though it's being a persitant little bugger.
people QuestViewer is a Trojan.Generic (a virus which cant be detected by the user and is hard to remove), i know this as IObit MF auto blocked the download when i did verify integrity. I'd recomend doing a scan of you computer again but first deleating QuestViewer otherwise your system may be destroyed, if you dont know where to go to deleat the .exe called QuestViewer just go through this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Audiosurf\Engine
that is where it is located.
in conclusion; someone managed to, a long time ago, get into the download server that Audio surf used before it got to steam, or something like that, and implemented a virus named the same as another file that had possibly been there that was possibly deleated by the hacker and replaced with the infected file. which when audiosurf came to steam, whoever downloaded audiosurf got the virus.
as in we need to let know steam about this, and maybe the devs of the game, although they will most likely ignor it as audio surf 2 is out....
god save our computers from this.
The trojan is a false positive or a hoax. Also I don't play Audiosurf very often, only if I download new songs or if I'm bored I'll play it.
(This problem was fixed ages ago anyway)
I use Malwarebytes + Microsoft Security Essentials. They don't detect that Audiosurf is a trojan so we're fine at my end :P
Hi there guys, I've written about this on my website, maybe you can find a solution here http://hasstoppedworking.com/questviewer-exe/
I've been getting a similar error for like a year now, where whenever I get a song going the game tells me that QuestViewer has stopped working. But then I noticed that it only did this for songs from Itunes, not the Orange Box soundtrack or anything like that. So I updated QuickTime and it solved the issue! I can play again! So perhaps that might help somebody.
I know its an old thread though I thought I would post in case anyone is still struggling with this. I have just myself came accross this issue that everyone has described as Questviewer.exe crashing on launch of the program and I was able to solve it by uninstalling Audiosurf from within Steam, then going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Audiosurf and deleting that entire folder. Yes, this will reset your settings in the game however you will not lose achievements. After that I reinstalled Audiosurf within Steam and the game worked perfectly.
