You are whats' stopping people from buying the game...
Get the campaign done now, you've already baited I don't know how many with your garbage.

And now you say you don't know what difficulty to put the campaign on... You have got to be kidding.

I'll build blocks of wooden walls in front of stone walls to slow them down, kinda like traps but better. Behind that some cannon fodder swordsmen. I keep the spearmen and foot knights in reserve to plug any breaches in walls.

One thing that would reduce a lot of micro is a civilian job that's similar to the graveyard keeper. Only this guy collects soul crystals. By late game I have to micro around a couple of horsemen collecting crystals, when instead I'd love to have my attention more focused on rebuilding/improving defences.

Idk if this is just in the game modes i played but i feel the day cycle is too short. Some battles push over to the next day which leaves very short time to rebuild, Expand , Mange you base, and push out and clear the camps before you get hit with another wave.

I think making a game mode where users can adjust there onw settings would be perfect fix for the current complaints. Have them be able to set : Map, enemy spawn types, Time of day length, range of how often waves spawn and the setting if they get stronger (Which you already have this in place)

Just my 2cents on this Diplomacy issues. But idk it may not be an option XD

My best tactic is to place multiple wall layers with openings. essentially I place a wall block every other square. I use this like a wave dampener used on the ocean. It slows the mob down, while not stopping it completely. Multiple weak layers of wood, works many times better than a single upgraded stone wall.

на башни ставлю 2 баллисты вперед к врагу и 2 катапульты за ними и даю баллистам команду атаковать сильнейших (чтоб умирали катапульты)
на ранних этапах лучшая тактика - водить кругами одним солдатом
а так ... можно же пройти без исследований , или без ферм
без осадных орудий , только пехотой . Не построив ни одного куска стен или башен ( правда надо узнать возможно ли это)
может прохождение компании в особых сюжетных условиях

My best strategy so far has been, at the beginning of the game to collect a lot of resources, on the main day the business is wood, I already go out making 3 fields, and make a lot of houses as much as possible, on the second day, I already leave to collect food (fishing and fruits), at least 2 fishing and about 6 fruit collection houses, and stones (2 fields at least), I also build the barracks, and save resources to upgrade the archers' speed, and I increase the builders' huts, and what's left in houses, on the third day I continue to increase what I can and save resources to upgrade the castle, on the 4th day is usually where I attack, on the 4th or 5th day, at this point I already have at least 10 archers, when the first wave comes, I create a small wall, in the direction it comes, and I try to contain it with the archers and the speed upgrade, while the wall distracts them, and the next few days, I increase more and more resource collections, and observing the map, to create defenses, the ideal is in the third wave of attack, already having machinery, Catapults, and in the 4/5 already having the tribuches, for that, always focus on maximize resource collection, it's hard to explain exactly by text, but it's something that's working, I bought the game in this summer sale (2023), but I already have more than 40 hours, really good game, congratulations devs, looking forward to the campaign: D !!!!

Speaking only for myself I dont play campaign or sandbox modes (not just here but in other city builders from AoE to TAB) only in it for a scenario where need to build up and survive wave after wave.
Also means not paying attention to achievements but then again I already bought the game so am likely not the target audience here.
Whenever new biomes, buildings, units/enemies or research is added in general I am happy though as they expand these sessions and increase replayability.
Would be interested to see stats on how many play what modes

this is not a tactic but i would like a mode where you have to create a base but there are 1-4 enemie groups with their own bases so a battle against time but it would neeed ai work and it might not be what you want the game to go but thats just a thought

while I am new to the game, using archers and hoplites(spearmen) with some catapults and stone walls from where the enemy is coming from works well so far. Also constantly expanding for resources is kind of a must

I'm only ever interested in the endless mode. I think there is WAY TOO LITTLE TIME BETWEEN WAVES, especially in the beginning. I want to make walls before the first wave, like in many similar games, but there's not enough time and you have to try to BS the AI into attacking a small section of wall in an unwalled city if you're meeting all the other needs!
