The red alert notification will trigger about 3 secs later.
If no response from player, the anomaly will strike.
And it's not unusual the anomaly strike more than once. Oddly, on of the way to get rid of "forever poking" was to turn the UV lights on and off a number of times to make sure the arms and be free from the stuck scripted.
Do note this DO NOT apply in between deployment of advanced Fauna traps and getting 3 samples. The anomaly will just keep poking once it's already poking until the end of the 3 sample collection.
Yeah the thing seems to declare some of your buildings rivals. The UV mode seems to work like a electric bug zapper - makes the thing attack it instead of potentially dramatically more expensive equipment.
Also, I do believe without UV mode attacks either last far longer or don't stop. I didn't have UV for an attack and it went after 6 buildings - got UV and it stopped the next one. Every other attack was only 2 buildings.
