It does, however it doesn't let you survive a fall that would otherwise kill you. You still die.

Fall damage, not killboxes. It does work. Any fall that wouldnt kill you but would reduce your health a bit is nullified.

It works as intended

Doesn't prevent death, only damage from falls. Any fall greater than 16 meters but less than 20 meters normally do damage. With this talisman it won't cause any damage.

It makes you immune to damage you would take from a survivable fall.
You still die from any height that would kill you.

Fall "damage", not fall "death".
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Which is fairly silly when you consider that you won't ever see any use for it. You will either encounter no damage, negligible damage, or instant death. It is a relic of previous games that has practically no value in ER.

It even says that on the talisman.

I mean, I agree that it isn't great but it works the same way it has always worked.

Cat talismans in previous games were a big time save in many areas. Elden Ring is not designed around that. Either a fall kills you or it doesn't.

And this is not factoring in Flask management due to curated enemy encounters in previous games.

It is literally useless in ER.

He didn't say it didn't work that way. He pointed out that it has no use because there's never a time or place where it has any value to be used.

But objectively there ARE places. I'm not sure what you guys want. maybe you don't know how it works or something.
It's pretty much 15m no damage, 15-20 dmg, 20+ death.

Pretty interesting video about the game's fall damage calculation
