Battlefront 2 - How Supremacy mode works?
I joined like 2-3 times this mode and it's funny, but I don't understand how much sub-modes have: I played the same game like 5-6 sub-modes togheter for like 40 min and still not end. At end I left the game for time.

Thanks

I tend to think of that mode more like a football game. Step one is the ground, The team that holds the most flags for the longest time wins (errr well it is supposed to work that way any how).

Then the winning team boards the crafts to go up. The winning team is on offense, the losing team is on defense. I think of this as a red zone goal line defense sort of thing.

The offense has a chance to win the game here. But before they can, they must complete one of two objectives.........a good defense can shut the other team down in this stage and send them back to the ground. And failure to complete all objectives in the allotted time for the offense equals qa trip back to the ground (like having to punt). In the early days of Supremacy..or "Capital Supremacy" as it was known then, involved a set of TWO pathways for the final objective.........two reactor cores that had to both be destroyed. It was not uncommon back then to have Supremacy matches that lasted 4-5 hours a piece. Perhaps some of the most epic multi player matches in my life.....

So I suppose it was concluded the two paths / objs was just too much.

The cycle of going up and down can last awhile.....And it tends to reveal a lot about a team and players. I have seen teams that could steam roll the ground and then just couldn't get through the defense in the air, and got held about every time. Eventually the same teams that could steam roll the ground at least once....maybe twice........will get worn out.......and eventually even lose the ground, and then perhaps the other team will win on their first trip up.

And THAT....seems to be what is so unique about the Supremacy mode................it is a game of STAMINA and longevity. I don't think this mode is for every one.

As good as it once was, I thought it could have been even better. I thought they could have added something that involved Starfighter Assault outside of those Capital Ships.............some kind of objectives...........taking out shield generators......engines...weapons...........opening / closing pathways for the teams inside, etc etc.

I think that a future Star Wars game will involve that mechanic. The movies have always shown this, the teams in the air and space working a long side the teams on the ground.
