Are you not debuffing him and buffing your party? Are you ignoring the overdrive meter and letting it go into red to destroy your party? That's where 95% of my deaths came from in this game (i already finished it). Are you not using ultra moves to your advantage? Did you buy good armor and not just weapons? This isn't a JRPG where you can just coast by and mindlessly enjoy the story. Be involved and use everything the game gives you.
Killing the secondary enemies the boss throws out should refill your TP. You can also use Victor's Ultra move to give full TP restoration to active party members (does not count backup members). TP loss should seriously never be an issue for anyone in this game.
Victor spends his turns doing tp regen buff or all target heal, if neither of those are needed go for overdrive reduction.
Glenn focuses on debuffing boss, especially oil for Lenne. I didn't really use Robb unless I really needed overdrive reduction from him. I killed the blue add with Glenn so he could also use lend energy freely to fill up anyone that was low on tp.
Kylian focuses on debuff speed and healing and overdrive management.
Lenne and Sienne just do damage while trying to get overdrive reduction. I got the spear from the veggy boss in the village (which I'd say is a bit harder than this guy) just before this so Lenne doing fire strike on oiled boss was doing like 300 damage. Sienne can't do as much damage as that per turn but she is good to swap in once for x-slash then, if petal storm didn't proc, swap back to Lenne to continue doing big hits while bleed ticks down. I also used my ultra moves with Sienne as it would do 400-600 damage depending on if it crit and the agi buff gave her a lot of turns, she even got 2 turns in a row once.
Maybe I got lucky with boss AI as he mostly only did basic hits against me. I only saw his aoe move like once per phase which was easily healed by Victor. Don't forget to target the parashroom that appears on one of the phases.
