Works, feel and look better than Reloaded.

This has better textures, yes, but here the profit ends.
It feels a bit clunky, buggy and the SSAO + Bloom look horrible. Even the blood looks like watered strawberry jam...
At 90+FPS, my movement felt like stuttering, ugh (with and without vsync).

Get the original on GOG, install mentioned mods (it takes 2 minutes) and boom, relive the frickin' 1999.

Released in unfinished state. Mouse movement is incredibly shoppy, stutters everywhere, no mod support to name a few. Wait for a couple patches before you buy

You guys "updated/remastered" this game so it's a little prettier but somehow managed to break it and make it more unplayable than the original. This is ridiculous, you shouldn't be allowed to sell this.

Once again Slipgate Ironworks proves they can't develop a solid game to save their lives. This game, along with Rise of the Triad (2013), Bombshell, Rad Rodgers, Graven, and even the demo for Phantom Fury are all sloppy messes that play like ass and in most cases, barely function. I honestly have no idea why 3D Realms keeps giving this team games to work on. The only good game they have their name on is Ghostrunner, which they co-developed with One More Level, who clearly did the heavy lifting, as the Ghostrunner sequel was handled soley by OML and it was great. Had a feeling this would be the case after the lackluster trailer, but I figured I'd at least give it a shot. Good thing Steam allows refunds.

Edit: For the record I adore the original Kingpin Life of Crime, despite its many flaws, and I was really hoping that Slipgate could get their ♥♥♥♥ together and release a game that improved upon the original. At the very least I was hoping they could deliver a solid looking and playing remaster of a nearly 25 year old game. As it stands the original game with some fan patches runs and plays better than this, and no amount of jester reactions is gonna change that...but if it helps you cope, then feel free.

This is a poorly done port, and definitely is NOT ready.

The game is supposed to be a remaster of the cult classic Kingpin, an FPS from the late 90s. But everything about this port is rushed and just poorly done unfortunately.

Lens flares on lights are so bright at points they take up the ENTIRE SCREEN.
AI has some of the worst pathfinding I've ever seen, running in circles and not firing at you right away in encounters.
Companions are completely useless, they barely seem to be able to fight properly and they get killed because of it.
HUD and UI choices are just not great, honestly.
NO ONLINE MULTIPLAYER?!? This game was HUGE for multiplayer for a long time, still is. Quake can do it, why cant these guys?
Textures are not much of an upgrade, even a downgrade in some aspects. *cough* the blood decals *cough*

Do yourself a favor, save the money and just get the original version with the latest fan patch. Way better.

After years of waiting, this was a disaster. One of the most underrated first-person shooters in history deserved better than a half-baked texture pack inside a Unity wrapper with over-the-top bloom lighting. Removing multiplayer was a terrible idea, given that it STILL has an active community in the original game, and they're being left behind. Not that I think anyone is in much danger of choosing Kingpin Reloaded over the original on GOG, which works perfectly fine with the v9 fan patch. Skip this and save your money rather than waiting for bug fixes that should have already been implemented!
