2 mages party build is pretty fun

With a tank and 2h war it is good fun

Dorian is much better with fire because he does more damage to feared/panicked enemies and fire can set the fear/panicked status

I usually run with 2 Mages (myself and Dorian), a Rogue (Sera or Varric) and a Warrior (Cass or Bull) and it's pretty damn good, BUT, I already tried 4 Mages as well, but it's not that fun since everything gets obliterated pretty fast. Don't ask me about the other 4, I'm not a big fan of them, especially Fakewall.

artificer archer for my character, with reaver, Templar, and mage (depending on required magic type). seems to roll just about whole game. maybe 2 archers for dragons but that'si t.

I also run with two mages almost exclusively. One tank and one rogue is all you need.

Currenty doing 1 tank (Cass) and 3 mages! Each mages specializes on an element (fire, electro and ice) with sprinkles of other skills here and there. A lot of fun!

For fade rifts I try to go either three mages or two mages + cassandra. Basically maximise the dispels I have.

two mages maintain shields pretty well and them nuking. two tanks is pretty good too with their extra guard buildup and pulling aggroes.

my main generalist party is usually a rogue a tank and a mage. the other position is either another tank or mage. the rogue mostly ranged to keep them distanced from the enemies usually varric mostly for locks though.
