Discover University: Where's the dialogue for joining an organization?
This is probably a stupid question, but where the heck is the dialogue option for joining a university organization? It seems to be missing from the entire dialogue menu - I've seen screenshots where it's shown to appear as soon as your Sim chooses to interact with an NPC Sim who's a member of the organization you wanna join - even before you can select the usual options like "friendly" or "romantic".

Maybe I just need new glasses, but I can't find that stupid button. One of my Sims is currently studying at Foxbury and attends various activities hosted by two organizations 'cause I figured that's the easiest way to meet any members. She's also made some friends who are members of those organizations.

However, the dialogue option for asking whether she can join doesn't pop up, no matter how much she talks to the active members. It doesn't appear after she introduced herself to another member either.

For context, I'm not using any mods.

Off the top of my head i don't remember but did you try looking under "small talk"?
9 times out of 10 when i need to ask a specific question to a NPC i find it there.

Also don't forget you have to be a student at the corresponding university (Foxbury students can’t join the debate guild, for example)

So as you said your at Foxbury you can join:
Bot Savants
Foxbury Spirit Squad
The Brainiacs

I thought it might be under "small talk" as well, but no luck... she tried to join the Bot Savants since she studies physics, but no luck either.

Could it be because she's still a teenager? I've googled a bit and found a thread I think in the EA forums that said as much.

I find that very weird. I mean, a teenager can graduate from High School early if the grades are good enough and she can enrol at university as a teenager, too, she can attend classes and study for her degree - but she can't join an organization? 🤔 It doesn't make any sense whatsoever... but since her birthday is around the corner, I'll just wait and see what happens once she's turned into a young adult.

That'd absolutely be my guess. My early grad teen had to wait to join the Secret Society. It had me puzzled until she'd aged up and I tried again.

Thanks! I'll just wait until she's aged up and then try again... and if her being a teen is really the reason why she can't join earlier, I'll make sure her siblings don't breeze through High School or take their time studying 😁

Update for if anyone is still in this situation! Your sim has to be at least a young adult, and in the corresponding university (Foxbury students can’t join the debate guild, for example)(taken from Miamew3's comment above). My sim was an early teen grad and was with Foxbury, but couldn't join the Foxbury Spirit Squad until I aged her up! Hope this helps :)
