The only C&C games on Steam are from C&C3 onwards.

It was never on Steam to begin with. Only C&C 3, Red Alert 3, and C&C Remastered... that is all of them! :) If you want the entire collection, you'll have to use Origin sadly.

Crap I though I actually had RA2 on steam but you're right ! weird I've never noticed.

It is a shame RA2 isn't available on Steam. But this is probably a good thing come to think of it. As convenient as it would be to have all my games centralized to a single profile such as Steam, it is probably not a good idea to let them have a completely unchallenged monopoly on game management. I got the complete collection of C&C games on Origin and my feeling is that it is a perfectly fine system. Not really any worse than Steam in any of the ways that matter (you can buy, download, and play games on it reliably).

If you want to play RA2 I would suggest just making an Origin account and buying the C&C ultimate collection (around $20 for 9 games (17 games if you count expansions separately), each of which would have been ~$60 10-25 years ago).

Thanks, I know the ultimate collection is on EA, I am concerned that it will not work on my windows 10 system....

RA2 came out before Half-Life 2 & Steam.
So if C&C Remastered does well. The next 2 best C&C games: Tiberian Sun/Firestorm & Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge would get the same treatment.

Lets hope so!

Doesn't Yuri's Revenge have both the Allies & Soviets pull off a Back to the Future? If so, then where's the famous DeLorean Time Machine?

Next two best? Surely you jest, RA2 was always the best title of the bunch.

What is this, Stockholm Syndrome justification? I actually own two disc copies of Red Alert 2, and all those games in that collection. Most want RA2 and Generals on Steam so they don't have to ♥♥♥♥ around with Origin.
I can swear we had Tiberian Sun here as well, let's get that back on Steam too!

It's already free.

It was never on steam. The first C&C game on steam is tiberium Wars. The earlier titles were never here.
