This is intended. Hard is only possible for a HARD person. A NORMAL person should play on Normal.
This has the little side effect that on some missions, yes, it's really, really hard.
Not impossible though. I'm playing through and enjoying the challenge.
Regarding troops randomly popping out of structures and damaging your commando, that used to be an old problem with the old game too and i'm not sure if it's worse now or not, so i end up saving the game right before he gives his "present" and reload if too much damage taken. I agree it's lousy that you have to resort to this - otherwise mission failure no matter how careful you are.
I've played Sekiro and I still agree with them. Tho the GDI commando mission is actually much easier then a number of the other missions since the Hard difficulty modifiers doesnt really matter for that one.
Hard mode didnt exist back then, foo'.
About the mission. Destroy 2 and then fly on the right side on the hill and put the commando out. this will work;)
There is exactly 1 position where you can land. Do not go the normal way cause you won't survive on hard.
