And for the record, if your friends are remotely interested in it, they'll most-likely be able play it on Steam anyways since the minimum specs require a potato PC.
So much for it being a proper remaster then. Basically making it run on modern systems and upping the resolution support isn't remastering. Also, I wouldn't buy it if you are forced to install Origin to play it.
I played my first RTS (Dune 2) on a console (Sega Mega Drive), but i highly doubt that EA is going to invest into a console port for C&C Remastered unless it sells like a bazillion copies on PC. But in terms of playability: It has happened. It can happen again.
I played their predecessor (Dune 2) on a gamepad - no problem. It just depends on the pace of the game. You cant be as quick as on a keyboard and mouse.
