Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Game won't start after changing resolution
I changed the resolution to its max resolution and after that the game crashed and now when I try to play this game it runs for about one second then exits. Is there a way to delete backup files or someother way to fix this?

Verify game cache so Steam can scan your game files and if it doesn't match what its servers has (or some of your files got deleted or corrupted) it will replace them. Go to Library > GTA: VC > Properties (after right clicking) > Local Files > Verify Integrity.

It'll take at least a few minutes as it scans so just be patient and let it do its trick.

If that doesn't help, then either lower the resolution or maybe install some mods that can fix this broken game. Otherwise, just uninstall than reinstall as the last resort.

How do I lower the resolution without opening the game?
Go to your desktop, right click anywhere (except on icons and taskbar) and then select "Display Settings". I'm assuming you're using Windows 10 or the older OS are similar. Then you can change the resolution of your monitor.

1- Go to Documents\GTA Vice City User Files\ and delete gta_vc.set

2- Start the game and choose a new resolution.

This thread is pretty outdated. If you need help with a similar problem, you might get the best amount of help in a new thread created by yourself. Good luck man :cozybrawlhalla1:
