As someone who works in the TV news industry I guess I can give a balanced and fair review.

The game is definately somewhat simillar to the reality. The broadcast room is simillar. Except of course in reality we have a lot more buttons and people working in there to get news to you. We also don't have the "interference machine" :D .

Switching cameras, and even having them numbered is realistic too. Though normally you would be able to tell people what camera to look at, the way it's done here is more than enough for a game.

The behaviour of some of the staff, is pretty close to reality too. Which I personally find very funny.

Even though throughout this prologue broadcast I wish I had more freedom with my actions, the experience was still fun.

Definately recommend. Will buy full game.

This game is honestly fantastic. After only playing the demo, I already have really, really high hopes for the early access and the full release.

Firstly, the gameplay. Arguably the most important part of any game. The tutorial is super important, because it's almost your first impression of the game, and I've got to say that this was one of the more engaging, naturally flowing, yet hilarious tutorials I've ever gone through. Not only that, but it really served it's purpose and slowly introduced a lot of mechanics to me in an easy-to-compute way. The mechanics all work and all have keyboard/mouse shortcuts so you can optimise play and concentrate on having fun, rather than fuddling with controls and buttons all with mouse clicking.

The game play itself was really engaging and so funny. The style of humour reminded me of Two Point Hospital, which is one of my favourite games for the humour alone. It doesn't take itself too seriously, yet still provides a challenge - a really difficult mark to hit in my opinion. It doesn't play like any other game I've ever played, although it does require prioritisation and management on the fly, like many popular games. I could liken it somewhat to Overcooked 2, as it introduced the mechanics slowly and the challenge increased with every level, as I expect will be the same in Not For Broadcast.

The humour really is a work of art in this game. I mentioned it before, but I really have to hone in on this point, as it wouldn't be fair to only gloss over it. The theme of the game: 'controlling the news' has very dark and sinister undertones to it, as we know that controlling mass media can lead to some horrific things happening and being swept under the rug, this has happened many times throughout history and, undoubtedly it's still happening to this day. They've managed to take this sinister point of the game, and introduce a genuine light to it through the humour. Funny jabs can be seen from the very beginning, where 'Dave' who 'runs the news' can't make it, and just throws all control onto you. The casual way Dave speaks about the job is funny and, also, very real. I can imagine someone saying 'oh ♥♥♥♥ he swore, bleep it out' behind the scenes. There are also adverts you play, all the ones I saw were hilarious. What I'm trying to say is that the humour really takes this game to another level more than I can describe.

Overall, Not For Broadcast seems like a game with a great potential. I will be playing the Early Access in January and will be purchasing the full game upon release. This could be the next best game that everyone wants to play.

Paper please but you look after a tv station

I don't usually play these types of games, but really enjoyed this demo and would definitely be interested in purchasing the full game because of it. It is very well scripted and comedic, and the game is challenging enough to keep it interesting without being too stressful and ruining the enjoyment. The controls are laid out well and the game worked without issue throughout my playthroughs.

I've been a professional in this field for over 30 years and I found it pretty realistic!
Normally there are several people working on a broadcast, not just one, but it's just a game and a fun and challenging one at that. It's a TV broadcast simulator!

I actually really enjoyed the premise of the game. I have done multi-cam work and even directing and working as the TD (Technical Director) in a few instances. In real life, it is really exciting, however, I never had to deal with censoring and interference haha! The switchboard here only has 4 spots, IRL you can work up to as many as your production is using! I've done up to 12, it can get ridiculous. But it is also fun, this kind of simulates that in a fun a way. I want to get the full game when it comes out!

The humor is good and the videos are not boring to watch. It's like Don't Feed the Monkeys, except instead of catching people on cam doing bad things, you are voiding the bad things on broadcast xD

Overall, the game is pretty good and I would recommend it. I've seen other people play it before, so I thought I'd try it myself. It's a really interesting concept and I think the developers did well in making the game. Only problem is that it doesn't work well on lower end computers. I had the game running on the lowest possible settings, and the game eventually stopped responding. With a game revolving around timing and visual cues, you can't afford to have a second or so of delay between the visuals and the audio. I think you should get the prologue to see if the game runs well, and if it does go ahead and buy the full game.

As a journalism major who has worked with broadcast equipment before, I absolutely enjoy this concept. Other than the interference part, everything is pretty cool in the game to start. Definitely getting the full game when it comes out and not stopping for much until I get through the whole game!

While this is just the prologue (a preview if you will) of the actual game, it was enough to get me to add it to my wishlist.

Pros:
* Entertaining, and amusing enough to make me want the full game.
* Good comedy, but hopefully the censor aspect won't be the main gimmick

Cons:
* Hopefully there will be some more minigame options other than the moving dot with a slider...that got old fast. (Maybe an optional flappy bird like clone, or a hit the button to dodge or jump over something like Super Mario...anything but that slider for the full game!)
* In this demo, the guy on the phone said he'd stay on and help me. Once I loaded the VHS tapes, he never said another thing. (It was easy enough to figure out, but this bug should be fixed.)

It feels a bit like a news room from someone who played a lot of FNaF. I hope that the content will continue to be this amusing. While there probably won't be much room for replay ability in the full release, this 20 minute preview gives me the possible hint that if the game is a success, they could easily add some extra content or "news casts" as some low cost DLC.
