Prisoner of the Abyss (Sosiel quest) bugged? Teleported off screen and can't move

I get to the point where I get set up for an arena fight with Sosiel's brother, but when the screen loads, only Sosiel is in party but is off screen and can't be seen or moved and my camera is stuck on the inside of the Arena (not the arena itself but the outside foyer).

So when I reload the autosave it makes when it transfers you over to inside the arena with just Sosiel, the camera loads correctly inside the arena itself with just Sosiel and Trever, but nothing happens. I can move Sosiel but can't click on Trever or anyone else. Anyone got an idea on how to fix it?

Have you checked the default steps to outrule any technical issues?

When you have an issue and start checking, make sure to make a general check to get faster to a possible solution:

■ Is the version you are playing the latest?

■ Are you using mods? If yes, do the issues still persist when you uninstall the mods?

■ Are the game files integrity still okay? After multiple patches there is no guarantee that some leftover files might lead to unknown issue which would usually be cured with a verification of game files.

■ Are you playing the game with combat in real time mode or turn based mode? If you are playing it in turn based mode, do the issues still persist when switching to real time mode?

■ Make sure to provide information which OS you are using. There are differences even between Windows versions which can lead to certain issues.

■ Keep your drivers up to date. You might be surprised how a corrupted file with video drivers, usb drivers, etc. could cause the game to crash. Before reinstalling the game after all files have been verified, you might want to make a clean reinstall your gfx card drivers first, as it turned out to be an uncommon yet not rare issue with crashes.

■ Send a bug report ingame by pressing ALT+B to open the reporting tool. Your save file and gaming system's specification will help the developers to identify special causes of rare issues.

Yeah I guess it is just bugged. So far that has been the only quest stopper bug I have come across but I really do not want to advance and not complete his companion quest. Sigh.

same issue for me as well. No mods. I haven't even been able to get the game to transfer me to the inside of the arena. I'm stuck with only Sosiel in party and he's offscreen.

Yeah exactly what i have. I did the alt-b thing and submitted a detailed bug report but who knows when it'll get fixed. Tried to figure out a way to fix it or make it work but haven't had any luck.

I tried dropping all items, since Sosiel was over-encumbered and this blocks travel to the map screen, but as suspected that didn't help either.

I used the Toybox mod to advance the quest and finish it which sucks because I could not see or read or actually do any of the quest but it was the only way I could find. I bet the bugging out has something to do with the fact that I already killed the slaver with the demon mask and destroyed it before going to the arena, based on the quest log updates that appeared when I advanced it with Toybox.

I don't think so. In my playthrough the demon with the mask is still alive.
I have also talked with Sosiel in the Nexus and with Trever in prison, so as to complete all the quest steps, but the scene in the arena didn't trigger.

If you have toybox, talk to the arena master and send Sosiel in. The game will auto save. Load that save and you should have Sosiel in the Arena. In toybox, go to search n pick, go to cutscenes, search for Sosiel, then play SosielMeetsTrever. Everything should work after that.

Thank you so much! This seems to have fixed it for me. One thing I should note, though; for me, the game wasn't autosaving when I sent Sosiel in normally. To prompt the game to autosave, I needed to go into Etudes, select the BattleBliss area, open some stuff and click on the 'unstart' button that lines up to 'SosielMeetsTrever', then click on 'start'. Works flawlessly, fyi if your game doesn't autosave, just quicksave + load, worked perfectly for me
