Game only runs in the background
So ive gone through a bunch of youtube videos and forum posts and i still cant get this game to run. Ive done everything from updating my drivers to deleting those Redistributables. Ive gotten the game to try to launch. The rockstar launcher looks like it is working correctly except i dont see red dead options in the settings. If i click either on the rockstar launcher or the play button on steam, my computer tries to start to launch the game and if you look in the details tab on task manager it shows the exe running but it never pops up on the processes tab.

Make sure to follow these steps:

Right click on the game in the library. Option and fill in "-sgadriver=Vulkan" at start option.

Update the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86/x64) https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

Then Perform a clean boot (https://support.microsoft.com/help/929135/) Go to Start > type msconfig > hit Enter Go to System Configuration > click on the Services tab > check ‘Hide all Microsoft services’ > Click disable all, Apply then OK. Restart the PC

After the computer restarts, disable your antivirus, Windows defender, and firewall temporarily. https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360024008553/Disabling-Windows-Firewall-and-Antivirus-for-Network-Troubleshooting-in-Grand-Theft-Auto-Online

Run the launcher as admin (Right-click on the launcher then run as an administrator)

I have tried that and it is still not working. If i try to launch from the .exe location it says that it cant connect with the rockstar client even though it is open as i try to run it. If I try to launch it from the steam play button it opens the rockstar launcher and then does the same thing of just running in the background and not opening fully.

Does your Steam and Rockstar launcher at the same Local Disk?
