Hi, we hadn't seen the starlight bug during development. We think it's a rare CPU issue.
We looked at it this afternoon and we have a potential fix that we'll soon roll out.
I went into my Windows display settings, and change my monitor refresh rate to 120 Hz
Then I launched the game (on the test branch) using custom launch commands as follows
"-windowed -w 1024 -refresh 144"
This ended up booting the game succesfully without the black screen hiccup. Hopefully this helps someone (or the devs) figure out exactly what's going on. Seems to be related to refresh rate from what I'm guessing. Cheers.
where did you enter this command please?
