reason?
Adventurer's are fun because there's not only a goal, but a realistic and relatively enjoyable way to achieve it. It's also reasonably enjoyable to remain an adventurer for longer than you really need to.
What are you gonna be doing as a camp follower or courtier? Pretty much nothing. Maybe a scheme here and there, but beyond that there's no path up the social hierarchy and honestly is just sounds boring.
From a development POV as well, it makes no sense. We still need a lot of stuff that's missing from CK2, such as societies, cardinals, republics and so forth, not even mentioning the regional flavour missing from a lot of places.
So yeah, I can guarantee it's not gonna happen.
Like in the ROTK series in which you can play as a officer who is not in a leadership position?
I'd rather like to add other things, like not destroying the camp after you landed, and using it for a relative/trustee you appoint to new adventurer traveling on and giving some rewards to you while they are continuing.
And you could equip your followers with useful artifacts for their work *AND* take them away again as you see fit.
