If you check the latest dev diary, you'll see that there won't be any "DLC" in the future, just random flavor packs, the CK3 project is in a comma, there are no capable people remaining, they just left the janitor and the shill dude in charge and moved on to victoria 3 (another blunder probably)

The last dev diary talks about future expansions alongside flavor packs so i'm not sure where you're getting that from.

Royal court was definitely more than a flavor pack. stop being pessimistic for no reason

Next thing is suppose to be a free update before the end of this year. Probably holiday related. Afterwards the dlcs are gonna be flavor packs like the Norse one and a goal of Royal Court level of expansion maybe once a year. Overall, they want to make 4 DLCs a year.

The devs are being coy. We are just projecting what we want to hear onto what they've said. They teased a number of things though, and made a goofy "floorplan" to describe them. The one I'd like most to see is some love given to the Byzantine states. That, and the DNA to make my very own in-game Ana de Armas.

They are not being coy. The DD specifically said the next expansion is role playing centric and it said that Byzantine while in the future will not be soon. They also stated that combat and trade are not something they are focusing on or consider important for CK3(I’m paraphrasing)
