Your anger and that of others could easily be avoided if you did a bit of reading about whatever you were purchasing. Steam also has a refund button for a reason?
You're right to be mad about the story stuff, but it wasn't sold as multiplayer.
you're telling me they made 2,000% of their goal, and almost 300% of their final stretch goal and multiplayer still needs to be delayed?
I haven't even played a farming sim that didn't let you hold down the tool button to continuously plant in like 5 years.
Going to drop it until 2.0 where they hopefully manage to find their mystery co-op developers.
Maybe throw some money at your head next time ... following said logic, it hopefully prevents you from spreading so much unhinged stupidity. You're the biggest clown of all ...

And I hate to break it you, but the game has never been advertised as multiplayer.
The Store even lists it as "single-player".
In short, your post is incorrect.
RF5 is also "single-player".
(and was no disappointment or failure)
Well, guess what, you're playing a game that requires you to hit the tool button each time. Just like the good old days.
You actually have to play the game, without an auto-pilot.
EDIT: I see the OP awarded me a jester. Well, thanks for the free points and proving me correct.
I don't believe it was delayed. It was always planned to go in post launch. To delay something you have to first plan and advertise it to be implemented by a particular date and then push it back from that date. We haven't even hit the first date that it was ever advertised to be implemented. Even in your quote they state that work on multiplayer will not be done at the expense or detriment of single player which is their first priority. That is a pretty clear statement that the single player game is going to be finished first and then multiplayer functionality will be added.
It may very well get delayed and there probably is a good chance of it given how development often goes-- and we'll find out if it occurs when 2025 hits and there still is no multiplayer.
The game is 1.0. That isn't going to change. While personally I agree it isn't quite 1.0 ready, it's still a very full game with a lot to do (as evidenced by my having more than 300 hours in it.) So. What? You just want to yell and make the devs feel bad? How's that going to get them to go faster to do what you want?
They have a clear road map of what updates are yet to come, including multiplayer. They update their Discord every day to tell us what they're working on. They listen to the community and fix at least their big issues, if this latest patch is any evidence.
They're a small company. They're gonna make mistakes, they're gonna jump the gun. That doesn't mean this is a bad product deserving of hate.
And as for your comment about holding a button down to plant, dude. Really? You're just being picky now. Not that it matters because clearly you just want to be upset, but eventually you can make sprinkler attachments made that can either plant seeds, put down fertilizer, plant and place fertilizer, or do that and also harvest for you. There's a LOT of growth available in terms of the farm, you just don't want to go looking for it.
Not to mention, these discussions, the reviews, the discord, the comments on all their social media posts, they're are FILLED with people telling you just how imperfect this game is. Your disappointment is entirely on you.
And now? It is released and I played and liked it so far, but have to stop again because the main quest line is not finished, despite being "released as an out of Early Access Version 1.0 (which normally means playable from start to end)
Imagine ANY other game released as a Version 1.0, with a "Work in Progress"-Showstopper in the main story quest line
Skyrim, Deponia, Zelda, Life is Strange, Mario
...
JUST imagine yourself buying obne of those games and hitting a "Work in progress"-Notification somewhere in the middle of the story. WTF?!
And NO information about the state of the incomplete story on the store page. OF COURSE not...
It is a shame and I am very upset about it.
They ruined my wider first impression of there game and of themself for me with this move. I really want to assume that they had no choice, because of Publisher-bullshittery and are now forced to take the blame and stay silent about it. But without a statement of them, this is just speculation.
I'm not defending the devs. but how I see it is that they took a risk and rushed to release 1.0 on time for the holidays, but are planning to release regular updates adding features and fixing bugs throughout 2024. They have a good track record so far and I'm not too worried despite it being a pretty dumb decision to release it without a complete story.
