3 questions
1. Which engine is it built on?
2. Will this game be avalaible on GoG?
3. Will there be mac/linux/steamos support?

Hi *Yuki*! Owlboy is made using XNA, it was originally created for the Xbox 360, but Microsoft stopped developing XNA, Luckily for us, we didn't need any new engine features to make Owlboy.

The game will be available on GOG as well.

At some point, we're going to port Owlboy to both Mac and Linux, allthough we don't know exactly how long time this will take.

i thought it was made in an old version of game maker studio. maybe that was Savant-ascent?

Thanks, I look forward to that. I've been following the game for a long while and have been hoping it would get a Linux release using FNA[fna-xna.github.io] or something. I've waited this long, so I can wait a while longer for it to happen. :)

Yeah, there's FNA or MonoGame that could perhaps both do the job. I've had good experiences on Linux with games that used MonoGame.

Apparently, which framework to use depends on the version of XNA they used to develop the game:

Odds are if it's still using XNA4 it'll plug into FNA just fine, without having to rebuild content or change the source (unless it depends on something like System.Windows.Forms, hopefully not).

Damn, XNA was such a blast to develop for, I kinda miss it.
