A question about Yuzuha. There will be spoilers.
So I haven been playing the 2002 release of the Utawarerumono game, and I wanted to ask a question:

Is there a canonical reason we allow Yuzuha to die?

Because I am seeing what our character is capable of (we are a GOD after all):
We turn our greatest enemies (the ones that kidnapped our family and experimented on them) into immortal entities (formless blobs yes, but still immortal).

Hakuowlo/Uitsalnemetea, as we are apparently the "good half" of the god.

Aruruu is nearly killed in an earthquake (it is mentioned in our very first meeting with Teoro) and Eruruu gets the help of the Uitsalnemetea to save her.

When Aruruu is nearly killed by the enemy faction that is using the giant Mech Bodies (their name eludes me), we bargain with Eruruu to heal her sister, in exchange for eternal servitude.

The one thing that I have always wonder about Yuzuha's fate... why couldn't we reverse it?
With the above evidence of our demonstrations of power, you mean to tell me that the power of GOD could not save Yuzuha?

If There would be a price to pay, surely the group that loves her could have done so? Eruruu gets two chances to save her sister, but Oboro doesn't get that opportunity to save his sister? We've seen the lengths Oboro has gone for his sister in the past. Give him a pact to save his sister? he would be on that in an instant.

Now that I think about it, weren't Eruruu and Ulthury become aware of his powers, but chose not to tell him? Could be iffy on that, but I am sure that the moment Aruruu is hurt and revived the second time that Ulthury has a "heart to heart" with Eruruu about "making a pact with Uitsalnemetea"

Canonically, is there a benefit to letting Yuzuha die, when we have seen evidence that we could prevent it?

Saved Aruruu twice, and turned your most hated enemies immortal, but a child with a fatal illness?

Well that is beyond our powers.

I'm sure that Uitsualnemetia could, in theory, do something to save Yuzuha's life, but he doesn't for a very simple reason: after the final battle, he's sealed underneath Onkamiyamukai and can't use his powers.

The Hakuowlo we know is the "good" half, of course, but after recombining with his dark half, he's unable to control his powers. Camyu and Ulthury use the On Riyaak ritual to seal him so that he won't go out of control. Before that, Yuzuha's life isn't in immediate danger, and even the light half of Uitsualnemetia's pact prices are in excess of his rewards; I don't think Yuzuha would have wanted anybody to sacrifice their life just to prolong hers.

Despite there being some inconsistencies with the whole "Wish / Price" power of Uitsualnemetia, it is safe (and by all means valid) to assume that there would be great repercussions to save Yuzuha from her disease, she also wouldn't agree to a pact that would probably end in the misfortune of others just to save her own life.

You would also need to consider there being a diferent chain of events that lead up to the party discovering Hakuowlo's power, since it pretty much happens at the finale of the game (like, giving an excuse for Yuzuha to tag along in saving Camyu, so that she could be there when everything happened & stuff).

That said, it wouldn't really have been an asspull to have Oboro make the wish tho, knowing him it is actually quite plausible. It would be really interesting to think about the repercussions this could give in the sequels.

As for the pact itself... While the game doesn't really go in detail over how much one can and cannot do, it's clear from how Genjimaru behaves that you simply can't disclose information about it if it's against the pact (could be the reason Eruruu deliberately acts as if she doesn't know Hakuowlo beastial form when he saves Aruruu the second time). It is a bit of speculation since the game doesn't go deep into details for how these pacts work.

I always thought about what consequences enemies have suffered vs allies, and When you see the price Eruruu pays (just like the "Eruruu/Aruruu story that Tuskur alludes to) it seems significantly less than the enemies we have seen suffer.

If we were going by what we know, eternal servitude would be a possibility in my mind, though I don't see that as nearly as much of a negative when you compare it to saving Oboro's sister.

And ironically even Eruruu is eventually freed from her pact by the end of MoT, so it comes as a bit more.... "hollow" that we didn't save Yuzuhara still.

One fact I think you might have overlooked is that Hawkuowlo never actually consciously offers a pact at any point, the only time he made a pact was immediately after being awakened by Eruruu's plea for someone, anyone to help her sister but apparently he was also very injured during that sequence and ordered her to heal his wounds. After that point he has no memories of having or using the power... additionally as we have seen Hawkuowlo seems to be the type to put possible memories into the category of dreams all too readily as with the whole Camyu showing up and drinking his blood thing which happens several times before he accepts it as reality.
I think the canonical reason that it all boils down to is that he doesn't know/accept that he has that power until the moment of the final battle and at that point it is too late for him to use it on anything other than fighting his other half.

As a side note it also seems like the whole pact offering thing is the dark half's favorite thing to do, while the light half seems to prefer directly guiding people... so technically Oboro could also have signed up with the dark half to save his sister instead (and probably more easily). Though odds are wishing for her "not to die" would mostly end up with her turned into another immortal goo blob since the dark half apparently defines the phrase "be careful what you wish for."
