Your camp could not be placed

So I sometimes get this message and can set up my camp free of charge.

Now I wonder, is there a way to prevent this from happening?
I don't really want to build a elaborated base, only to lose it when I start the game.

It means someone else has a camp or tent near where you placed your camp. Your choices are:

-switch to a new server. This is the most common and best way to find a server where your camp isn't blocked.
-start a private server.
-activate your 2nd camp and have an alternate location to build / use for when your primary camp is blocked.
-wait for the camp spot to open up (player logs off)
-go to the camp in your spot and introduce yourself to the owner, make a friend while you wait. "^^
-use foundation or crater or other hub / town like responder station as a crafting area / camp.

Good luck. Some popular spots have a lot of people building there, and it can take several tries to find a server with an open spot. For one of my camps it's not unusual to have to try 2-4 servers before I can place it since it's in a popular spot.

this is because someone else has built where you built on the server you are joining.
your camp is there, if you stay and do nothing nothing happens and your camp icon is on the map but you cant ft to it because in the upper right it says its blocked, this is one of the reasons to set up a simple second camp. leaving the first camp alone.
if you get that message you can say ok, then level the world and join a new world where you camp might not be blocked by anothers. if you keep getting this message often youre in too popular of a spot and should look further afield for your homebase. still nothing happens to your camp until YOU move it. even if you have two camps, only one can be active at a time, so when activating the second camp, again nothing happens to the first camp, it hibernates.

camps are our homes. the devs have spent a lot of time as much as on events or npc stories etc... its a major part of the game. some would say its the major part of the game and everything else revolves around it and i tend to agree. i say all this to ensure you that your camp is protected and wont be lost. you have options when building your camp one of them is blueprinting the whole thing or parts... i dont do this. if i do move camp it does get put into a blue print but it aint gonna place down anywhere else. terrain wont match, errors saying you cant place needs support etc. its a glitch or bug in the camp system that just hasent been addressed yet or cant be. thus players have workaround this by building camps floating in the air on a stairway. just gotta make sure the base can be placed on a small flat spot then a whole camp laid out.
shelters also make for great mobile camps... just need the flat spot for the door. and your camp device. \hope that give you some clues about camps im not an expert but i have built plenty of them ;)

Nope as its just a matter of the game deciding something occupies your camp's space. Only solution is to exit to main menu and load into a new server until that space is available.

Or play without a camp
Or switch to your other camp

if it cant be place just keep jumping to diffen saver s it just mean some has your spot

I saw a article or video, dont remember, in which you can block the user who has his camp in your place , so that he does appear online and cannot take your place with his camp.
This was done, so said the article, by adding his username to your blocklist?

Is this true? Anybody tried this?

I'm kind of tired of it. FIVE times today I tried to log in, dropped into a world...no camp. What's really annoying is that I get asked if I want to find a different world if my survival tent can't be placed...but not my camp. I don't get why- my camp is far more important to me. Ask me to find another world if my CAMP can't be placed so it spares me having to log in and out of main menu for ten minutes looking for a suitable server.

Isn't it slightly ironic that there are selected objects in game you can't build around and then there certain areas that you can't build around or manipulate the junk after said placement of camps and yet we have a submitted build of camps WTF? I over that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about after everytime I start so farkar joins the server and apparently build where my camp is so why isn't this addressed or is it a scam and the bargain sales and release of season 2 is to really get the faithfully buying more? This has happened now since season 2 release now 3 times I've had to scrap and rebuild and start again

Often when you DC you're forced into the same server again. A solution i've experienced is to block a random person in the server.

This is why most Players have more than 1 Camp that they can activate should this happen.

A better solution is to disconnect to the main menu, then fully load into the Atomic Shop before starting a new game.

Other players camps, Fallout First Tents, can block you camp. Now, There are now, Two camp slots for free. If you do the "Free" Shelter quest, that is shared per character, for all their camps. So, If you need something to help you get your second camp going. Build your crafting, in your shelter.

Find a area you want to build your camp, or a less occupied resource generator area, then switch to other camp slot, Build up your Second camp. You could use it for fishing. Its up to you. Some camp are in popular areas, other are not. Now, with other camps, you don't have to block. Just switch to another camp slot. Also, with fast travel, for the over encumbered, expect for cheaper travel, its not as necessary to have your camp up.

You could always buy more slots, if you need them.

On Building Private World, you can place stuff, almost anywhere. That could be were those camps were built. But that would have been after Nuclear Winter Closed down. Not during the Second Scoreboard Season, But about a Scoreboard Season or Two later. Now with the Amazon TV Fallout Shows Second Season, a lot of new players, putting up camps, that could cause issues. But, at least there are new players.

This was, an old answered post. I guess, new players, have revived it.

"Your camp could not be placed" is sometimes music to my ears because then I can join big teams and not have to worry about the higher levels making a beeline for my vendor.
