Linux Support for The Falconeer

So we have confirmation from Tomas Sala that Unity 3D is being used for development.
As well as Linux support not being on the menu yet.

But it would be great to see a native Linux port. Since Unity does make it easy to do so.

Works nicely under Proton, currently, but native is always welcome.

It's a Platinum on ProtonDB, so you are likely to get your Steam Deck support whether you do a native build or not.

It's always nice to have more native titles though.

well there is some sort of check it seems and a badge of compatibility, so it'd be good to go native and get that credit from valve

See https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/steamdeck/compat checklist. Native or non-native does not matter.

Not trying to talk you out of a native port. Just saying if it does not work out, don't sweat it.

I literally heard about and wishlisted this game from an article on gamingonlinux.com which unless you're a massive AAA product doesn't do proton coverage so good call and good luck I'll pick it up if you get it working!

it seems to be working reasonably well, have to make some fixes to the cloudsave, but things are looking good. no word on release date and such, as it will be tied to the steamdeck most likely.

yeh i got one confirmed test for cloudsave that it works. Lots of learning on steamworks for this. But it seems to be fairly good so far.

I just want to throw out a thanks for going through the effort for native support - it's how I heard of this in the first place. That plus a fun looking game made for an instant buy.
