Dark boy achievement rage ...

Hey guys !

TBOI :Rebirth is comming so I want to do 100% in original isaac + DLC of course ... The only thing I have to do is dark boy achievement ... I almost did it ... my heart waas beeping like crazy ... but mother's leg exploded and all is gone ... I spent 30 hours on it ... I just want to share my rage ;3

How did you do it guys ? Challange run / something else ? Just want to know .

I remember I spent 1 whole day on that without luck then I got it like couple of days later if I remember well I had either brimstone or dr fetus item and 1 emperor card which I used on depths 2

Kinda funny but my first 90 or so hours into the game I had a really hard time trying to get that achievement and Mama's boy, could not do it. Then last 2-3 days after having gotten into tboi and the expansion again I got both of the achievs with fairly minimal effort, really strange, but perhaps trying too hard was what lead to my initial failure.

Couldn't really tell you how I did it as I don't recall, but I guess just a really good solid item combo and probably an emperor card.

Was doing fine, skipping the depths 1 with the shovel (we need to go deeper), Death XIII card to partially kill mom's leg, got caught by a flying blood spit. Rage.

Dr. Fetus challenge. Get lucky with emperor card and dont stay in middle of the room after killing mom, thats where explosion happens.

I don't, the womb doesn't have bs rooms that you cannot avoid damage.
Especially if you start with the DLC, you get the swastika room with a bunch of greed heads and fat red flies.
Or a similar room with very limited space to move, which has the fat guys who shoot their little chub heads at you.

I can't recall a single room in the womb that was -impossible- to avoid damage, since there are no pitfalls and you can freely roam in most of them.

^ all things considered you don't have flight of course.

I agree, I feel that for some reason that the depths and especially necropolis enemies have much more difficult attack patterns in places where there is very little space. Espescially the keepers and those damn heart + mask.

I don't know which I did wrong but just finished depths with "Isaac was good" challenge and I was on an XL floor without getting hit, but one of those I'm guessing caused me not to get the achievement.

I got mamas boy, somehow beat the cathedral without taking damage, but i still cannot get dark boy either my advice is to use an emperor card to go staight to the boss and skip the baddies

Spelunker Boy is iffy. One run through and you could get empty rooms mostly on your way to the boss room. The next, rocks and paths that limit your movement with a hoard of flies and blood-shooting worms and crawling worms coming your way! If I could get through Spleunker Boy, I think I could manage Mama's Boy and Dark Boy.
