Odd performance?
Hey guys,

I was just playing Monaco, and found that I was only acheiving 30 fps with graphics on low with a fairly low resolution too which is giving me a sluggish and restricted feeling, particularly when aiming. I'm running an Intel HD 'graphics card' (first gen) which I know isn't exactly ideal, but should I be expecting higher fps? The system requirements are pretty low- I meet even the recommended requirements. Is there anything else I can turn off? V-sync or bloom maybe?

Thanks for your help!

I have the same config. I tried to turn off bloom in the config file, it did not seem to change much. But it seems that disabling fullscreen made my game run 2 or 3 fps faster.

Anyways, the game is still completely playable on low settings, and is so much fun!

I personally wouldn't call the performances "odd", since a Intel HD 1st gen is a pretty bad hardware.

Thanks! Is there any way you could benchmark your game with fraps, and see how much fps you're getting? This might be a problem with my own hardware... Do you have sluggish mouse aiming too?

I did benchmark it with FRAPS, and I get 30fps fullscreen on low settings and default resolution (which seems to be 720p for me).

It feels kinda sluggish, but nothing unplayable.

hmmm... you're probably right. Then again, I can run TF2 without trouble, so I reeally dunno. Sorry for the relentless flow of questions Dimitri2401, but after benchmarking again in fullscreen with the defualt resoltuion, I only acheive 15 fps at best. Are you sure you have a first gen Intel card (ix-xxx); with only 3 digits after the hyphen?
Thanks again!

BTW, no need for FRAPS, Alt + F2 allows me to see the fps in-game.

My CPU is an Core i3 M370, so definitely 1st gen.

Alright, last question I swear :D
Could you please check how much fps you're getting windowed and at which resolution you're using now? Thanks for all your help!

I forgot to say that I also have 8GB of ram, that might explain why my game runs faster.

I get 30 fps on average (low is like 29 or so) fullscreen on 1280x720, and around 32 windowed (low is still 29), same resolution. Completely playable (and the game is totally enjoyable!).

Im getting roughly the same problem. I can just get 19-20 FPS regardless of resolution/windowed in single player. I join/brother joins my game and it tanks to 6-7 FPS right in the menu. Low graphics too. Radeon 6800, Intel Duo Core.

BTW, I'm not completely sure the resolution setting works. I tried to change it from 1280x720 to 1024x768 (all windowed), and the size of the window did not change at all (after rebooting the game, of course).

Ohhhhh, that would explain a lot. I heard one of the devs talking about that on another thread... Maybe once they get that sorted...
Either way, I apppreciate your time and effort in going through all this with me.

p.s. MisterFuzzles, I've got no experience with that gpu, sorry.

There have been other reports that the performance on uber machine is wonky. I don't know what it is specifically, but people have said that changing resolutions, or running as admin, or playing in windowed mode, all those have helped.

Some people say to turn off Windows Aero, or even run fraps

Can you confirm that the resolution settings are not working?

Yes, the resolution settings are broken unforunately. That is top priority. By change resolution, I think they meant their actual monitors resolution in full screen.
