the motorways… they speak to me… must segregate on the basis of color…

Really wanted to like this game, as it's highly rated and pretty much right up my alley (heh) as far as genre is concerned.

But I couldn't get past the unrealistic gameplay that really made the game unplayable.

No city works the way that the Mini Motorways cities work, and for good reason. A limited number of road tiles? Unheard of. A minuscule amount of traffic controls that come around once a week? Impossible. No city planner would ever approve the amount of intersections that end up with no controls at all because the amount you get is so ridiculously limited. And the entire game pretends that stop signs don't exist and that no roads have more than one lane at a time.

Then there's the issue of house spawning. This is utterly ludicrous and quite possibly the worst part of this already extraordinarily bad game. People apparently just build their houses wherever they want, popping them up instantaneously, usually in the worst place imaginable for efficient road-building. What actual city has ever grown this way? I venture to guess that even a frontier town would have some kind of rules about where you can or can't build a house in relation to the placement of a road. This is absurd.

I don't even know how you could fix this debacle. Maybe the devs could issue a public apology and a full refund for everyone who's had the displeasure of experiencing this disaster of a game. That might be a start.
