Any way to increase map movement speed?
I can only find an option to increase combat but my god the SLOW MOVEMENT on the world map is driving me insane.

I am not talking about moving your map but the speed at your units move.
No, but you can do other things while your units are moving.
I hope there will be some option to speed up units on map, watching 15 AI units around me and waiting till they stop its sooooooooo ♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying
Even during a battle, you can do other things while the AI takes its turn. Just click/drag away from the battle and the AI will keep moving.

True, it is a good feature to be able to focus on other things during a battle (e.g. sending more troops to fight). But the main issue is that the animation for unit movement (outside of battle) is damn slow. They should have a walk/run option at least. It's annoying to wait and watch the movement every turn, and every game

It might be ok if you only have a few units, but when you're managing more it really is time consuming. This is by far the most frustrating issue with Humankind. Can't wait for an update which includes quick movement.
There are ways to improve your units' speed on the map. Some cultures give you a permanent +2 boost to land and naval movement.

The land movement in particular is much, much faster than it is in Civ, especially in the early game. but if you want units to move faster, pick a culture that gives you this permanent boost.

I agree with you OP, I find it so annoying in fact that I refunded the game... First game I have ever refunded. I mentioned this to them in the beta and I know several others have done the same so I have no idea when they will fix it or if it will ever be fixed.
I also find basic movement to be painful in this game. And it's not just the speed, which I went looking for menu options to fix and was amazed when I didn't find them.

Aspects of the fog of war, path finding, map layout and "simultaneous" enemy movement all combine together to make just basic movement itself a slow and frustrating process than can involve multiple clicks with no guarantees of ending up where you want to end up.

Then just for good measure you start every game with a mini-game of an era that is all about moving in fog of war over unknown terrain being blocked by simultaneous wildlife with destinations that are blind until half way through your (slow) movement!

I would have thought trying to make something so basic a more fluid and enjoyable experience would have been arguably one of the very first things they focused on in development.

I would have said "Team, of all things, we have to get THIS right, players will be doing a lot of it after all!"

But what do I know, after all, I find basically every apparent design decision and priority in this game baffling.

Update, since this has gotten a bump: If you opt into the beta branch, WSAD scroll is CONSIDERABLY faster.
As post release updates trickle in with basic functionality updates like usable keyboard scrolling lets all remember.

This game didn't just have early access it had double special secret unique early access with it's own special name!

And it went to release without a unit movement speed slider in the settings menu.
