A) After the Frogwares logo, I am presented with a sort of Main Menu, but all of the interactive elements (cursor, buttons) are using a funky color palette. The background image seems fine, though.
B) The cursor is completely captured. I'd like the ability to move the mouse outside of the game window and do other things while the game is playing, if possible.
C) Your settings turn off my Aero desktop effects, which I would prefer it NOT do. This is a low-priority thing, but it irks me.
Any way to fix these three issues?
I think we can try to contact DXWind developer and ask his permission to include his software to the game distribution on Steam to make the game playable to everyone. I personally like the game and impossibility to play the game on recent machines is making me sad
It wasn't a bad game at all. I had a good time with it. Maybe it didn't feel as much as a detective game as other games in the series that I played so far and Sherlock just gave a long solution to the confused player like me at the very end in a long cutscene that I actually had to watch twice to understand fully. But it was nice, plenty of interesting puzzles!
But if you like this game, I really strongly recommend the game "Scratches", which unfortunately got removed from Steam store for some reason... It has the same mechanics pretty much, allowing you to move from spot to spot with the 360 degree view from each of these spots. It's an adventure game focused on a mysterious mansion where you discover its very intriguing story. The story is extremely good and quickly got me very involved and I couldn't wait to discover what was going on. And it is a little creepy. Even though you seem to be alone there, something always feels wrong and terrifying about the place. I loved it. I hope they put it back on Steam. They had this Director's Cut edition that had a short follow-up game that tied some loose ends. Maybe it's still available outside Steam somewhere.
