Skill level goals?
I've seen pics of high level players' skill distribution before, but I can't find it now. I'm just wondering how they should be laid out? I just learned mana stream is basically useless. So like, do you keep yellow and orange at basically the same level? Stuff like that. Just wanting to learn better distribution patterns.

Depends on where you're at in the game. Early game, Mana Stream isnt a bad investment as long as enough initial mana is left for a couple of decent kill towers. But late game, it indeed becomes irrelevant, since mana farming with the orange gem is an exponential return on investment(although every upgrade will have diminishing effect)

There is a Optional Skill Distribution Guide
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1999407961

It does get very math heavy and technical. I'd recommend checking out the skill distribution tables, near the bottom, to get grasp of what it's about if the math is a bit complex(for me it is)

But from what I gathered... Strategy tends to be the same for late game when all the necessary skills are unlocked...

Basically, it's all about creating a mana farm and then creating a powerful yellow kill gem surrounded by amps and enraging the waves as high as possible, while still being able to clear them.

Skill distribution should focus on True colors, Orange mana leech gem, Traps, (even spread). Oh yeah, Fusion is also in this priority group, more or less.

Yellow crit gem (1/2 of True color level),

Resonance and Amps( about 1/2 Yellow Crit skill level)

Remember to make sure and leave enough unused skills points to have about 2,000 initial mana to get the ball rolling.

Edit; spel/gram
Thanks for the help!

Yeah this is totally what I'm doing.

The ratios you've given are really helpful, thanks. I'll try evening them out like you've said and see how things go!

1x = True colors, Orange, Traps, Fusion
0.5x = Yellow
0.25x = Resonance, Amps

EDIT:
The table on that guide is cool, but it seems WAY off. I'm level 2k, and I can more than double what he's saying. There's no way initial mana is that important when you can mana farm.

Resonance being a quarter what True Colors is seems pretty extreme, but I'll try it.

Why nothing on lanterns?

I'm guessing max for Seeker Sense and Fury?

I'm guessing spells and pylons are useless?
The left column of the skills table is the number of skill points which will be used on the skills in the table.
Sorry I don't really get it, but I can tell the rough ratios at least, which is still super helpful. Thanks for making that! You're definitely the expert on the game!

Silly question. Is there a way to upgrade things by better amounts? Like 5 or 10 each click or something?
It's just a bit annoying to upgrade like 20 games, 20 times each. I just sit there hammering my keyboard, lol.

Glad I could help.

Yeah, my explanation is just approximation to give an idea about the distribution, it's not exact science, so to speak.. Tweak the skills to your personal preference and play style.

To reiterate what Bill Wilson said: At Wizard level 2000ish means you have about 14,000 skill points available, so you'll probably want to check out the High Level Skill distribution table around 5th - 6th row. The table's left hand column is based off available skill points, not Wizard Level.. hope that clears up the confusion.

When the gem is in your inventory, mouse it over and scroll up, it will auto upgrade, as long as mana is available..

Or there's little up and down arrows next to the create gem button, just above the inventory, you can click up or down or use the mouse wheel to scroll the number. It's used to select the grade level of the gem you want to create.

"U" key will upgrade a gem while it's still socketted in a tower or trap( while having your mouse over the gem)
