Nioh 2 and Monster Hunter World have the best character creation imo.
The "engine doesn't support it" argument holds about as much water as "the gods prohibit it", all things considered. Bioware somehow managed to implement facial customization in Frostbyte of all things, an engine used for shooters exclusively beforehand, so the only explanation is that Larian's is, for all intents and purposes, outdated and bloated to capacity and they don't really feel like improving it (the toolset's horribly suboptimal layout and functionality are rather good evidence in that regard).
Fallout 4 has a great char creation. It's even better than SF's. The beards in Fallout 4 look more realistic. The ones in SF, look painted on and then some mats of hair glued to the face. :P
Not all character creators allow you to make abominations that don't conform to logical proportions.
I didn't really expect in depth sliders, but I can see how someone would be disappointed if they did expect that.
All the better options in Bethesda games were also mods, if we're honest.
The character creators with all the sliders are actually.....awful.
And? All characters that "dont conform to logical porportions" are the ones that let you make such detailed characters that you can make 1:1 celebrities or whatever
I don't see many celebrities that would be widely considered abominations, at least physically.
We're talking giant pancake ears, noses the sizes of grapefruits, etc.
I thought it was obvious but the point is if it's a proportion that doesn't really happen in reality, and the game is stylized for a more realistic depiction then it's not a bad character editor if it doesn't allow you to do a bunch of goofy unrealistic stuff.
