Breaking the oath!
So I accidentally broke my oath and now I'm curious if I can't get strong spells anymore, or does breaking the oath lead me to be more powerful as paladin?

It really depends. You can take up your oath again and continue down your previous path, or you can embrace the oathbreaker status and take on those spells instead. Both are viable!

You can check the tables here to compare the different Paladin skills and abilities: https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Paladin

Pay oathbreaker knight after long rest to get your oath back

Im sure you still get smite attacks on oathbreaker paladins, which seem to be the strongest direct attacks for a paladin. But as oathbreaker you get a neat fear area of attack spell and other types of paladin have different abilities.

Of what I've seen from the page of the user of above, seems that an oath breaker is more focused in damage (necromancer skills) and fearing/paralyzing enemies, seems fun to try it out!

I had ancient oath that has some dps, healing and buffs that some of these skills I won't be having anymore I believe, but knowing that if I pay 1k golds I can take it back if I don't like the oath breaker build .

(Sorry for ly English btw! I hope it's understandable xD)

I find very interesting that the paladin role can be changed if you don't follow your oath, ahhhh this gaaame! 😁😁😁

Damage - vengeance paladin.
Buff/Debuff - Oathbreaker.

Considering free hold person, misty step and a haste as vengeance pal it’s kinda problematic to be better in terms of both versatility and damage as any other paladin.

Keep in mind that Oathbreaker paladins cannot respec. It's the only hangup of that subclass. You'll have to pay to return to your original Oath to be able to respec.

Ohhh true I've been checking vengeance oath skills and it's more focused in it than the ancients oath, I got it wrong x)

Having Shadowheart for helping out the team I guess having ancients oath is not that necessary anyway, I was hoping to be more focused in dps, so I guess I'll have to check which I like more between vengeance and broken oath

Ahhhh whaat? So if in any case I'd enjoy that subclass I must pay 1k anyway to change specs and find a way to break my oath again? Hahaha good to know x)

I did prefer BG1/2's system where if you broke your oath you changed classes to "Fallen Paladin" where you were essentially just a fighter. However if you played as a Blackguard it was the opposite you had to be as evil as possible and if you made too many morally correct decisions you lost that too.

The Oathbreaker has only one downside. Can't be respec'd. Until you restore your oath. (As was just said.)

Other than that, I would say it is basically the Blackguard of 5E. You control undead instead of turning them. You use necrotic energy instead of holy energy. Etc. Etc. As was said, the BG3 wiki can show you what's unique to that path.
